                                                        Chapter eight

       I have no idea why I did what I did. She just looked so sad and vulnerable sitting there against the lockers. But I’m glad I did what I did.

  She feels so perfect…she’s so warm and she fits perfectly in my arms, even though she’s crying, I can’t help but feel happy that’s she’s here in my arms. If you knew what this feels like, then you would understand.

    All I could do was hold her, she was kinda shaking from crying, but that just made me hold her tighter. I never want to let her go, but eventually this moment will end.

   What’s going to happen later? When school starts again…or if we see each other during our summer break. How do we respond?

    Well right now, I don’t give a damn. I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I started to hear her crying subside and she became loose in my arms, I looked down at her face, wet from tears, cheeks pink from crying, eyes closed, she was just breathing deeply, her hands holding my shirt, every so often sniffling. I have to say, this is the most beautiful I have ever seen her.

   “Hey…Rain, you ok?" I asked her; using her actual real name...well I cut the A off at the end, but shh.....

“Mmm…yeah...” she said pulling herself up straighter and wiping her face. Why did I have open my mouth.

      I felt like such a loser…I freakin broke down in front of Jess. But I couldn’t help it. He was just…THERE! And I just couldn’t hold it. He held me the whole time, just wrapped his arms around me, and rubbed my back a bit. He was so comforting, and warm.

 I could hear his heart beat, and it was amazing. I wanted to wrap my arms around his neck but the furthest I got was clutching the front of his shirt.

   I wish it would have went on forever, I wish I could always hold him…always be this close to him…But life isn’t this simple… and the thought that I could have Jess as my own made me feel worse, it didn’t make me cry more…in fact it made my sober up.

   That thought just hit me so hard, I couldn’t really feel anything about it…

“Hey…Rain, you ok?” Jess asked me, he actually called me by my name. The name my dad picked out. Not Sam but…Rain…

  “Mmm…yeah…” I said, pulling my self up straighter, and trying to clean up my face, hoping I didn’t look so nasty.

  “You sure?”

  “Umm, yeah thanks Jess.”

 “Heh, no problem. Do you need a ride home…or something?...” 

“That would be good, if you don’t mind driving me.”

“Yeah it’s cool, you live down the road from me so it’s no problem.”

“Thanks, I’m just gonna go wash my face really quick”

“Yeah…you look kinda….ROAResk. Haha” Jess said laughing at me.

 “Yeah, that sure makes someone feel nice.” I said sarcastically.
