After she awoke she got up with bruises all over her body, and next to her bed was her now, empty purse, and an open window. She ran into her kitchen grabbed her black razr and went into the basement where she hid all night long.

She didn't go to school the next day because she knew, he'd be there. That night he was back more drunk than before. The basement had been soundproofed because of Jessie's band, and her parents finally got sick of banging drums, and whirring of guitars.

Jessie went to that basement because she had a ton of great memories in that basement. That was the last place Jake checked because she never told him about the band because most of the people in it were guys, but he fou nd her and all the band pictures. That's when the bruises didn't seem so bad, because of what was about to go on, in that soundproofed suburban basement.
