It's Different Now [8] The Finale

“Leigh, Please Wake up. If you wake up I wont wait any longer to tell you I am in love with you.” I heard someone distant say. I could feel myself trying to open my eyes and become aware of where I was. I felt a cold hand wrapped around mine, or was it my hand that was cold? I struggled to open my eyes but finally managed. I look around the room and noticed I was in the hospital. I saw a heart monitoring machine and an IV sticking out of my arm. I looked over at where I felt someone holding my hand and saw Jamie sitting there with his head on my arm.

“Jamie?” I asked with a hoarse voice. He looked up with excitement on his face.

“Leigh! Thank god!” He said as he threw his arms around me and kissed my forehead. “How do you feel? You probably want the doctor. How do you feel?” He babbled. I let a slight chuckle escape my lips.

“How long have I been out?” I asked, noticing the insane amounts of flowers sitting in the crowded room.

“About a week.” He admitted.

“Jamie, I heard you say some stuff. About how you feel.” I said as I took a drink of the water he gave me.

“I was hoping you couldn’t hear that, but it is true. I should get the doctor or your mother.” He hurried out of the room, probably afraid of my reaction. I turned my head to look out of the window.

“Do you have anytime for a bitchy best friend?” I heard an all too familiar voice ask. I looked over and saw Olivia heading towards me.

“Keep your hands where I can see them.” I said as she sat down in the chair next to me.

“I am so sorry Leigh. I wasn’t mad at you, so much, I was mad at Dan. I was ready to lose my virginity to him thinking he would do the same. I was jealous because you got to him first and I know that is so wrong for me to say but it’s how I felt and when I saw Brett push you down those stairs, I just felt like a part of me was dying and I love you and do you forgive me?” She said all in one breath.

“I forgive you.” I said. I put my hand on my stomach and noticed that I was back to being skinny(Well, mostly). “Leigh, where’s my baby? Why isn’t he in here?” I asked, pointing to my stomach.

“Because I have the baby.” My mother said as she walked in with a baby in her arms. It was so small I was sure it was fake.

“Change of plans, apparently the baby had her hand between her legs when you got the ultrasound. It’s not a boy. You are now the mother of a beautiful baby girl. They had to do an emergency C-section because when you fell the baby‘s umbilical cord wrapped around her neck but she is tough just like her mommy.” My mother added. I held out my arms for her to hand my daughter to me. She was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. She had big blue eyes and so little hair on her head you’d swear she was bald.

“That baby has been waiting a week for a name. I think you should give her one now before she thinks That Baby is her name.” My mother said. I thought about it for a minute and decided her first name would be my grandmothers and her middle names for the two people that helped me the most through my pregnancy.

“I am going to give her and extra name but I really like it. Her name is Rosalie Jessica Jamie Walsh.” I said naming her after my sister and My new best friend.

“That is a beautiful name.” My mother said. I looked down at my daughter and realized nothing could get more perfect. My mother and Olivia strolled out of the room to let me get acquainted with Rosalie.

“She has her mothers looks.” Jamie said as he came in the room and looked at her.

“She has your name.” I said as I look up at him.

“You know, its going to be kinda crowded at your house with the baby and no one will be home to take care of her when you and Jess are in school and Your parents at work. Why don’t you guys come live with me and I can take car of her during the day. Like a little family.” He suggested. I was wrong. Things could get more perfect and they just did.

“I would love to live with you but there is something I have to get off of my chest first.” I said.

“What?” He asked, a little frightened.

“I am in love with this amazing guy and I really want him to finally kiss me but--” He planted his lips on mine, careful not to hurt Rosalie, proving things can ALWAYS get more perfect.

I thought this was an appropriate ending to tis story. Sorry if you didnt like it. I will put up the first chapter of "First Date" up tomorrow. I WILL keep everyone posted unless they MESSAGE me and tell me not to. Oh, by the way, if it wasnt clear, Brett did go to jail for abuse and breaking the restraining order. Thanks for the support.
