The Trip [13] the finale

We went to a couple more of the shows on the tour but after that Reid and I stayed in California because I got signed to a major label, thanks to the guys of My Chemical Romance, and had to work on my debut record. I haven’t told my mother about this yet but I am sure she will be thrilled.

“Are you ready to tell her?” Reid asked as we pulled up to my old house in Oregon.

“Yeah.” I said as I got out of the car and walked up to the door. I opened it and saw my mom standing under a banner that read ‘Welcome home’.

“Preston! I missed you so much! I hope you don’t mind but I convinced the dorm directors to give you a single dorm.” She said, starting on the Harvard stuff already.

“I missed you too. Mom, I have to talk to you though.” I said. She took me to the den to sit down. “I’m not going to Harvard.” I said after what seemed like an eternity.

“What are you talking about?” She asked. I could see the fury gaining in her eyes.

“I am going to be a singer. I have a record contract and I am done with half of my album already.” I admitted.

“Preston Elizabeth Kelly, what the hell were you thinking? What about your dreams of becoming a doctor?” She asked.

“My dreams? You don’t care about my dreams, you never have. It was your dream to go to Harvard, not mine. I am living my dream. It’s my life, not yours.” I said and walked out of the house and out to where Reid was sitting in the car.

“How did it go?” He asked.

“Get me as far away from that woman as you can.” I said. He started driving. About ten minutes later we were at The Cliffs(a place where all the teenagers hang out). “What’re we doing here?”

“I have a surprise.” He said and got out of the car. He came over to me and put his hands over my eyes.

“You better not push me over the cliff.” I joked. He laughed but led me to a spot.

“Keep them closed.” He said and I did. I heard the buzzing of and airplane. “Open them.” He said and I saw a plane with a giant banner that said ‘Preston, will you marry me?’ I turned around and saw Reid on one knee with a ring. I couldn’t help but cry.

“Preston, I love you so much and I want to be with you forever. Will you marry me?” He asked.

“Yes!” I practically shouted.

---Reid and Preston: they got married and bought a house in California. Reid got into college and became a writer. Preston’s first and second album went gold and she is currently working on her third album. She is also pregnant with their first child.

---Ashlyn: is living in Beverly Hills with her boyfriend of three years and runs one of the most successful clothing lines in history.

---Carter: Sam and Carter broke up a year after dating. He is now dating a girl named Tillie that he met while at Berkley. He is going to be the godfather for Preston and Reid’s baby.

---Sam: Is dating Frank Iero of MCR. The two started dating while she was working with them on their album as a producer. She is highly in demand but still makes time to produce Preston’s albums.

                         Basically, they all lived happily ever after…
