The Trip [6]

I opened my eyes and saw Reid changing his shirt, his muscles gleaming in the sunlight. I sat up in bed and pulled my knees up and rested my head on them. I looked over in Reid’s direction.

“How long have you been sitting there, watching me?” He asked when he turned around.

“Not long. I just woke up. What time is it anyway?” I asked as I got up.

“About eight in the morning. I was gonna go get some food from the store. You know, so we don’t have to stop at a fast food restaurant every ten minutes. Do you want to come with me?” He asked.

“Sure, let me just change first.” I said and walked into the bathroom. I pulled out my black skinny jeans and my favorite blue wife beater and put them on. I walked out of the bathroom and over to Reid. “You should go tell Ashlyn where we are going and I will tell Carter and Sam.” I said.

“Why do I have to tell Ashlyn?” He wined.

“Because I cant stand her.” I said and walked out of the room. I walked next door to Sam and Carters room and knocked on the door. No one answered so I opened the door. “Oh My God! You guys!” I yelled and woke them up.

“I can explain.” Carter said.

“I said to tell her how you feel, not show her.” I said, because I found them naked in the bed.

“What are you doing in here anyway?” He asked as he put his boxers on under the cover and Sam put her bra and underwear on.

“Reid and I are going to the store and we wanted you guys to know. Hurry and put you clothes on before Reid comes in here.” I said.

“Well, go.” Sam said. I opened the door and saw Reid out in the car. I climbed in and put my seat belt on.

“They were still asleep.” I said before he could ask any questions. How could Carter have sex before me? He is a bigger nerd than I am.

“I figured that. Sam usually sleeps until at least noon. At least we have more alone time.” He said and took my hand in his. I smiled at him and looked out the window. We pulled into the store’s parking lot and parked the car. We got out and walked inside of the store. We got a bunch of Lunchables, sodas, chips, and I got a few grape juices for me(My favorite drink). We bought it and put it in the back of the car and drove back to the motel where we found everyone outside waiting for us.

“It’s about time. Do you know hoe goddamned hot it gets out here?” Ashlyn said as she came walking over here. “Okay, Preston, you can get out of my seat.” She said.

“It’s not your seat. Now, get you delusional ass in the backseat.” I said rudely and she flipped me the bird.

“I’ll go get our bags.” Reid said to me and I nodded. Ashlyn climbed into the backseat and Carter came up to my window.

“You didn’t tell him did you?” He whispered.

“No, and you’re not going to either.” I said to him and he nodded. He walked around the car and sat next to Sam.

“Hey, Carter, do you think Reid will like this shirt?” Ashlyn asked and pointed to her shirt that came up to tight under her breasts.

“Ashlyn, if you talk to Reid in any kind of flirty manner I will kick your ass.” I said defensively.

“Why, don’t like the competition?” She asked.

“It’s not a competition if I already won. Just stay the hell away from my boyfriend.” I said and then realized what I said. Was Reid my boyfriend?

“Okay, I got our bags and checked us out of the rooms. We have about a hundred miles until we get to San Francisco. What’s going on?” Reid asked noticing all of our faces.

“Miss Valedictorian just said you are her boyfriend, is it true?” Ashlyn asked. I sunk down in my seat and thought ‘Here comes the embarrassment’.

“Yeah, I am. Problem?” He asked them as he smiled at me. No one said anything. Reid looked over at me and had the biggest grin. I reached for his hand and held it, not wanting to let it go.
