Chapter nine

My parents cant be like me, no I refuse to believe it. Well, Lexi has never told me a lie, but come on, how bizarre would it be if my dad was like me, or worse. My mom. I couldn’t tell her she was wrong.

“Okay Lexi. I’ll look into it. Nate I have to go, I’ll be back here tomorrow to see you.” I said and gave him a kiss. I know my mom absolutely CANNOT be like me but I don’t talk to my dad that much and he keeps to himself. There is probably a one in a million chance that my dad is like me. I opened the door to the library and walked outside. To my surprise, it was completely dark outside. I walked to my house (luckily the boardwalk is lit) and opened the door. My mom rushed over to me an embraced me with a bear hug.

“Where have you been? It is after midnight.” She said when she let me go. I had to think of a lie quick because if I told her the truth she’d probably have me committed.

“I was with Sawyer and the time just flew by when we were picking out our prom dresses.” I told her what she wanted to hear. “Um, is dad here? I need to ask him something.” I asked. She pointed towards his study and I walked out of her hug path and into my dads study.

“Ah, Tanzie. Sit down.” He said as he turned the TV off and turned to face me on the couch.

“What’s my real name?” I blurted out before I could stop myself. He patted the couch next to him which signaled for me to sit down.

“I knew you’d find out about it someday I just hoped you never would. Your real name is Acinica and you were a princess about fifty years ago in another dimension. I know it sounds hard to believe but that is what you are.” He said.

“So I’m adopted?” I asked.

“Not exactly. I am your real father. I was there to father you all those years ago because I am something called a transmetamorpher and you are one too. Your real mother and I feared for you safety so we brought you to a new time and turned you back into a baby. I put a spell on your mom(not the biological one) so she would think she had you. You have a castle and everything you could ever need. It is your choice in whether or not you and Nate want to go live in your palace with your real mom and your sister and me. I hope someday you will go back there, it is the most beautiful place.” He explained.

“How do you know about Nate? And I have a sister?” I asked.

“I know everything about you and her name is Trixie.” He said and left the study. Nate and I have a decision to make but I think my life got a lot better today and it will always be good with my friends Sawyer, Bex, Lexi, and especially Nate, but I want to move to my Palace. I’ll convince Nate eventually…
