Crystal's miscarriage broke her from ever possible angle. She spoke to no one, refused to get out of bed and cried herself to sleep more than twice a day. Justin tried his best to comfort her pain but she refussed him most of the time. She couldn't even look at him with out the guilt, let alone find solace in his arms. However, Justin was determined to get her back on her feet. He brought her back home to the mansion in hopes a different atmosphere would bring here around. Once settled back in the mansion, nothing really changed for Crystal. It was just a differen't place, with different faces, but the same problems. It wasn't that she wanted to mourn forever, she just didn't know how to deal with it. She didn't understand how she was just suppose to get ver the fact that she killed the baby.
Justin took some time off from his work and placed another in charge until he was ready to returnn. Until then, he catered to the needs of Crystal. He sent Shelby and Troy to go stay with Jason. Deciding it was best that they work out thier issies without the constant family interference. For the most part it worked a little. She felt more at ease without the constant pitty stares. It was hard enough getting them from Justin.
It was early one morning, Crystal slipped out of bed and over to the chair on the balcony. She sat watching the sun come up and as the light gently peaked over the horizon, she began feeling at piece. As ore and more light peaked out she knew everything was going to be all right.
"Baby?" Justin called. Crystal stood frm the chair and made her way back over to the bed. She smiled at him gently.
"Morning, love." She climbed her way on the bed and over to him. Planting a sweet kiss on his lips, brought a smile to them.
"Feeling better?" He questioned. She crawled back in the bed beside him.
"I don't know. I still don't understand it, but I know I can't mourn forever." she cuddled up close to him.
"I don't think anyonereally understands it. " Justin yawned, "But don't worry, we can have as many as you want once you nice and healthy."
"As many as I want?" She smiled at him.
"Sure. But I must warn you, my tolerance is only equipped for three maximum." He smirked at her. She giggled gently.
"You're so good to me."
"Why would I be anything else?"
"I don't know, but I'm glad you put up with my selfishness this whole time I made it all out about me, when you're here in this relationship too. I'm such an idiot. If I were you and had to put up with me, I would of left." Justin smiled down at her gently.
"Good thing you weren't me."
"Yeah."
A knock quickly rapped against the door.
"Yes?" Justin called, Cedric entered.
"I'm sorry if I woke you, but you have visitors." He stated.
"At this hour?" Justin questioned.
"I'm afraid so." Justin hudded with annoyance as he rose from bed. He followed Cedric out and down the stairs. Standing at the door was the long lost face of Jane.
"Jane?" Justin stated.
"Yes, I'm sorry its so early, I heard about Crystal and the baby."
"News travels fast it would appear." Justin sighed. "She doesn't want to see anyone if that's why you're here."
"Understandable, but i'm afraid that's not the case." Jane stated.
"Then what?" The aggravation in his voice startled her slightly.
"I just... I came to warn you."
"Of what?"
"Peter." The sheer sound of his name brought forth many meant-to-be-forgotten memories." He heard about Crystal as well, went bizzerk, rambling on about how it was his child." Justin raised his hand, silencing her words.
"I can assue you its not true." He replied. She nodded.
"I know, and I tried telling him as well and he refused to listen. He said he was going to kill you for killing is child. I wasn't sure if he was serious of if it was the rum, so I just had to come warn you."
"Thank you, Jane. But I know Peter. He's all talk. Even if he does try something he won't have the heart to see it through." Justin stated. Jane nodded.
"I'm sorry I woke you." She stated.
"Its all right, I was already awake." He smiled. "You have a sage trip home."
"Thank you."
Justin returned to his room, where Crystal laid lazily on the bed. She looked up at him with a yawn.
"Who was it?"
Justin looked down at her with a smile. How much better her mood was indeed. How could he break it with such news as Jane has told him. He must add this to the list of few things he couldn't bare to share with her.
"It was Jane. She heard of the news and she came to see how you were doing. Wish you good health." He stated.
"Oh. Well that was awfully thoughtful of her. However, the timing itself is a bit strange. I mean, she hasn't utter the small bit of hello to me since that thing with Peter. Why would she care of my misfortune now?" Crystal pondered more to herself, then really asking for an answer from Justin. But he provided her with one anyway.
"I'm not sure, I suppose its just the humane thing to do."
"Yes, and I dare say if Peter shows his face to do the humane thing, I will know the world has gone mad." She laughed lightly. Justin forced an amused smile and she stared up at him a bit. "Are you all right? A bit tired still?" She pulled back the covers and patted the empty space beside her. "Come back to bed then? Its still early. We have plenty of time to rest." He nodded and climbed into bed with her. He reached over to her, pulling her in slightly, and planted a sweet kiss on her lips.
"I've missed this 'you' for days now. I'm glad to see it peaking its way back." He stated. She smiled at him.
"Well I recall this man telling me that these things just happen, and no one understands why it happens, but its no ones fault really and it would be a shame to waste what life will give me next if I mourn it forever."
"Smart fellow this man must be." Justin smiled at her slightly.
"Indeed, I'm thinking it may be of my best interest to marry him."
"I agree intirely."
"Speaking of said event, is everything still arranged?" She questioned. Justin nodded.
"Yes. Shelby had said it might be a good idea to cancel it, postpone it for a while longer, but I assured her that if we had to drag you down that ailse and puppet the words 'i do' from your mouth, that this would surely happen." He laid his forehead against hers.
"Ooo... I like this 'take charge' attitude of yours. So refreshing from you're usually 'whatever you want, love' outlook." she sighed. "Its so attractive."
"You just keep that thought in mind until you're in full health again."
"We'll never know if i'm in full health if we don't try." She stated.
"Its only been a week. Our wedding is in another week. We can try then. But until then, you will control yourself! I'm not a piece of meat!" He smirked. She frowned at him slightly.
"I no longer find this 'take charge' thing of yours attractive." she fell back on the bed. He laughed lightly.
Troy made his way into the living room of Erica and Jason's home where Shelby was sitting, reading a book. Jason sat across from her, looking over his paper. Jason soon stood and made his way from the room. Shelby smiled gently at him as he passed her by leaving her alone in the room. Troy stood there a moment just to watch her. His heart squeezed within his chest and he debated turning around when she looked up at him.
"Hey. How long have you been standing there?" She asked.
"Not long." He stated. She nodded. "I think we need to talk about some things."
"Like what?" She asked as she set her book down.
"About us." She looked at him slightly bewildered.
"Is there something wrong, Troy?"
"I'm not sure if its wrong or right or what."
"What do you mean? I don't understand."
"For the last few months, you've been distant. And I want to say that its because your stressed over all the business of the wedding, and with what recently happened with Crystal... but I can't. For some reason, I think its more than that."
"Troy, things like this happen all the time, and it is because of the wedding and Crystal. Once things settle, we'll be fine again. I know it." Shelby replied.
"I'm not sure that you do know it, Shelby. I think you are just wishing for things to be ok." Troy stated.
"What are you saying Troy, I don't understand." She stated.
"I know, Shelby... All right, I know." Troy stated. She looked up at him.
"I don't know what you're talking about!"
"Just stop it, all right." Troy shouted, she looked down at her hands slightly. "Just tell me... how long?"
"Once... after your parents sent you away. And then again, just a few days ago, after I heard the news of what happened to Crystal." She confessed softly.
"How could you be so stupid?"
"I didn't do it to hurt anyone..."
"It has nothing to do with why you did it, Shelby... Its just the fact that you did it."
"Troy... I love you."
"Just not enough to stay faithful?" He asked.
"That's not fair!"
"I'm going away... for a week. To get my head straight. Decided if my heart is still in this relationship. I think you should do the same." He looked down at her. "And I also think you shouldn't stay here anymore. It enough of an insult that you're sleeping with her husband... you shouldn't make it worse by doing it in her home." Troy stated and then left the room. Shelby set back on the small couch and sobbed slightly.
"What have I done..."
