Man's Bestfriend

This morning I woke up about 8:30am because my mom said I needed to help my dad put Britney, our dog, in the car so she could go to the vet.

My mom also said that this might be the last time I would see her.

 I went out in the living room and saw Britney laying there. Immediatly when she saw me she tried to get up but she was too weak. I went over and sat with her and she slowly wagged her tail.

Her breaths were really short and far apart.

I got ready so I could go to the vet with my dad and when I came out everyone was crying...

She had stopped breathing and her eyes had glazed over.

But then she started her very short breaths again. So me and my dad quickly lifted her to the car... she was a complete dead weight and very heavy.

When we were in the car I kept telling her she was a good girl and we loved her.

She was really close to my dad so I kept telling her, "Daddy loves you Briddy and he is still here... hang on for us."

My dad looked back and asked if she was still breathing and I said yes.

Then all of the sudden she kind of stretched and then stopped breathing.

I shook her and called her name but I knew this time that she had left us.

 I said a prayer and then kept petting her while tears streamed down my cheeks.

I remember the look in my dads eyes when I told him she stopped breathing. He knew that he had lost his best friend...

There will never be a better dog than Britney Webb
