A man cloaked in long white and red robes stepped out from the shadows. Long, sleek black hair. Fierce silver eyes. Thick eyebrows and a grin upon his face.

Phantom's father.

"Father. What is this all about? Why do I have to cross over into the mortal world? It's just a dream."

"Calm down." he said, lying a hand on his son's shoulder. "If you would care to take a seat then I will gladly explain."

He snapped his fingers and two chintz arm chairs appeared. Phantom sat while his father continued to stand. He walked over to the opened window and looked out into the mystical realm, Lu Crux Borderion.

"This mortal girl you've been protecting is having these recurring dreams. They seem highly suspicious to me. Especially since they seem to involve Saint."

"But they're just dreams. What kind of danger could there possibly be?"

"I'm not exactly sure. Something tells me that Saint has something up his sleeves. Why else would he be in her dreams? Not only that but he used your identity to play a cruel and deadly trick on her."

"What? He used my identity?"

"Yes" he said, sitting down in the chair beside his son. "In her dream you two were in love. Saint used that as a means to distract her. Then he killed her. But right before she fell into a perpetual sleep, he morphed, making it seem as if you had killed her."

Phantom sat there in disbelief. Why would his brother do this?

"I don't understand. Why would he telepathically send this mortal girl dreams? Could it be because he's trying to lure me into some kind of trap?"

"It is possible. He knows that if something is or could harm the mortal then their guardian must enter the mortal world. If it is true that that he is trying to lure you into some kind of trap, you still have to carry out your duty of being guardian."

"I understand father." he said, looking him directly in the eyes. "I shall carry out my duty. But I have one question."

"What question would that be?"

"Well... I know everything about this mortal girl. With the exception of one thing."

"And?"

"When I look into the crystal ball, to watch over her, her face is blurred. How could find her if I don't know how she looks?"

"Come."

Revenant ushered for his son to follow. They stood before the large crystal orb. With the wave of his hand, the orb came alive with light. It glowed magnificently. The light was so bright that Phantom had to shield his eyes. Waves of energy danced around it, like spirits. It sparkled like a jewel. With another wave of the hand, and image began to manifest. First blurry but then gradually becoming clearer.

There were two girls, sitting in a living room. They seemed to be studying. Books were strewn across the floor. They seemed to be doing more talking than studying though. Then he heard her voice.

"Hey. We've got to get this mess cleaned up. My mom will be home soon."

Then the other girl spoke. "Yeah. I gotta get going anyway."

Phantom still couldn't quite see her face clearly, as they gathered up the books and papers from the floor. In a matter of minutes the mortal girl was escorting her out of the door, hugging her just before she exited.

When the girl turned around, her face became very clear. She was drop dead gorgeous. She had the face of an angel.

Long, honey brown locks, chocolate brown eyes, and the most scrumptous lips he had ever seen. She She also had the body of a goddess. He couldn't believe that a mortal could be this beautiful.

"Beautiful isn't she?"

"Huh?" Phantom was so lost in her beauty that he hadn't realized that his father was speaking to him.

"I said, beautiful isn't she?"

"I guess. For a mortal that is."

"So are you ready for this?" he asked.

"Yeah. I'm definitely ready."

Maybe this won't be so bad after all.
