Phantom felt a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, as he was being escorted to THE TOWER by his cousin. This tower was a port key to the mystical realm, Lu Crux Borderion. That's where his father awaited him. From there, he would enter the mortal world to keep a closer eye on her.

'Her'

Raiya Hope. An average sixteen year old schoolgirl. Born and raised in Riverview, Maryland. He knew everything about her. With the exception of one thing. He hadn't the faintest clue of how she looked. When looking through the crystal ball, her face is blurred. But he would soon. He was sure of it.

They walked along the cobblestone path that led directly to The Tower. The weather was perfect. The wind blew softly, making the trees sway. The sun shone like a diamond in the sky. Cherry blossoms sprinkled the ground like fres-fallen snow. The pear trees as well as the cherry trees were bearing fruit. Phantom couldn't think of a better place to be than here.

He didn't know how long he would have to stay in the mortal world but he hoped it wouldn't be too long. He really didn't want to leave his world for another. Even if it was just temporary. But it was still his duty. He had to carry it out no matter what the circumstances.

Up ahead, they could see The Tower coming into view. It was the tallest establishment in the kingdom. Constructed entirely from black crystal, it was an amazing site for the eyes to see. With the sun as its backdrop it sparkled like a jewel.

"Thanks for escorting me. But I think I need to go it alone."

"Yeah. I understand." he said with a suddenly, sad face. "I guess I'll see you when I see you."

And with that, he walked back in the opposite direction, with his head hung low. Even though they were both completely different in every way imaginable, they had never once been apart. And this kind of 'separation' was hard for both of them. Phantom knew the situation was only tempoary so he felt he shouldn't worry.

He watched his cousin until he was nothing more than a black dot in the horizon.

He turned and faced The Tower. He pulled off his crystal amulet. A cool fluid blue crystal sphere, suspended from a gold chain. They key to The Tower. Holding the sphere in the palm of his hand,he could feel its energy surging throughout his entire body. He held it out towards the black crystal. Closing his eyes, he concentrated on the sphere's energy. A radiant burst of light subsided. When he opened his eyes, he was no longer in the courtyard. He stood in a dimly lit room. The only light came from an opened bay window to his left. In the center of the room sst a large crystal orb. This orb held information about everyone and everything of all worlds.

Today, he would see the mortal girl that he'd been protecting for the past sixteen years. He would also have to enter the mortal world to keep a closer eye on her. Why? He didn't quite know.

Why me?

There was a creak in the floorboads. He spun around. A dark figure of a man stood in the corner of the room. Hidden in the vicinity of darkness. His heart began to beat a little bit faster. The voice that spoke nearly made him jump out of his skin.

"It's about time you showed up."
