To wish upon a star (pt 8)

" So what was that about" I joked. " what you never heard of wishing on a shooting star" He asked. "yea I have heard of it and done it along time ago"I replied. "So " he said, "well its silly cause wishes like that dont come true" I answered, "Yes they do he said they brought me to you" Aaron replied as he leaned over and kissed once again. I wanted to tell him that I love him that night and lord knows that I tried but once again I could not find the courage to tell him besides I wanted it to be special and unique. We walked home hand and hand that night and he picked a rose and gave to me. " Goodnight Beautiful"Aaron told me by his car. " Goodnight love" I said in return and watched him once again drive away until he had disappeared out of sight. I knew this was love and it was unlike any other love I had ever felt.I could almost say that it went beyond love but for now I would settle with love.

Later In the week I had bought Aaron a velvet rose with a teddybear hugging it and a little card that read " what I have been trying to tell you is that I love you" on the way to stay at my other grandmother house that lived across town. Aaron and I had plans to go to A neighboring town Homecoming that weekend and I though that would be prefect timing in giving him the card and rose. I gave Aaron the number to my grandmother house so that he could reach me that weekend. It was late evening that night that I arrived when Aaron called  the first time. " hello" I greeted him "hi what are you doing" Aaron asked. " Just sitting here watching tv and thinking about you" I answered back. "oh yea looking forward to tomorrow night" Aaron asked. "more then you know" I said. " oh and why is that" he questioned. "because I got you some thing" I said. "what did you do'" he questioned. "Im not telling" I teased. "I bet I can get you to tell me" he said. "I bet you can't" I teased back. " Oh yea well I won the first bet" Aaron joked. "and just what bet was that " I asked not recalling him and I ever having any real bets. " brandon and I had a bet going on who would ask who out first" Aaron explained. " uhuh  and" I asked. " I bet that you would ask me and brandon bet that would wont because you were to shy" Aaron explained. " oh yea and you won but what would you have done if I would not have asked you" I questioned. " Well you had me sweating it but I was giving you another hour and I was going to ask you" Aaron laughed.

The conversation went on for three hours and I had told Aaron about the rose and the card but not would not give up what it said until he had manage to trick me and I finally blurted out what I have been trying to tell you is that "I love you" he laughed and said thank you " I knew what it was since you started though and just wanted to hear you say it" Aaron teased. " geez you could have put me out of my misery here" I joked. " yes I could have but It would not have been as special as you saying it" Aaron said. " but we have been on the phone for over four hours now so Im going to let you go I call you in the morning" Aaron added. I hung up the phone and laughed to myslef  I felt a whole lot better telling him that I loved him then holding it inside. Although I thought it was werid that he said thank you but I was learning fast that Aaron was far from a typical guy. I was to excited to actually fall asleep so I sat up watching television until the wee hours in the morning before I had actually manage to pass out.

The next morning I was woke up by the phone rining it was one of the girls I went to school with since Middle school. "hey girl what are you doing" Megan asked. "I was sleeping" I answered back. "So are you going to come over today" Megan asked. "yea I'll come over later girl now Im gonna get some more sleep" I teased. "alright girl give me a call" Megan said as she hung up the phone. I had just turned over and gotten comfortable and started drifting back off to sleep when the phone rang again. " hello" I said into the phone. " hi Beautiful " Aaron greeted. " Hey you are up early" I teased. " And you are being a sleepy head huh" Aaron teased. " yes since I seen the sun come up this morning" I told him. " what are your plans today" Aaron asked. " Im going to go over and see Megan and Jason" I answered. " well I was planning on coming over and seeing you so why dont you wait until I get there then we can go over" Aaron said. " Okay well I'll probably run over for a little while then come back here and grab some thing to eat and wait on  you" I explained. " I really don't want you go over there without me" Aaron said then added "to much can happen to a pretty girl like you please wait on me" Aaron pleaded. "Okay I wait" I told him. "okay get some rest and I see you in a little bit" Aaron replied. "okay later love ya" I answered back then hung up the phone.

I tried to fall back to sleep but gave up on that quickly so I went in and took a shower and got dressed for the day. I watched a little tv and a knock came out the door thinking it was Aaron I jumped up and ran to answer it. "hey girl" megan greeted, "hey" I said, When you coming over already" she asked. "well Aaron said he wanted to come with me so Im waiting on him" I explained. "okay well why dont you come over for an hour and hang then come back and wait on him besides I got some thing to show you" Megan explained as she grabbed my hand. I knew megan well enough to know she was not going to take no for answer so I told my grandma where I was going and left the number for her to call me. I did not want Aaron to see what it was that Megan wanted to show me because we went way back and I was alot different back into the drinking and other scenes. Once at megan house she showed me a beer Bong that she had modified and talked me into take a little hit off it just once to get the full effect. I knew better but could not resist it. I reason that I had not done any thing crazy in a while and what the hell one little would not hurt me so jason loaded it up with 7 / 7 and I took the hit but it was more then a little.

An hour had done passed by as well as two more hits of 7 / 7  and I was more then a little drunk. Megan and I were sitting around talking when she reminded me that I was surpose to meet Aaron over at the house. I had just tried to stand up to leave when her phone rang and she laughed. "ahh Amy its for you" Megan said as she held out the phone. "hello" I said into the phone half afriad to hear the other end. " I thought I told you to wait on me" Aaron greeted. "I did but then megan came over and asked me to walk over with her real quick and I was just on my way out the door when you called" I explained. "where are you anyway" I asked. "Im standing in your grandmother Kitchen" Aaron stated. "okay well I umm yea give me a sec and I be on my way" I said though slurring the words alot by now. " I think he a little upset so Im going to go talk to him"I explained to Megan. " you mean crawl cause you can barely walk" Megan said laughing. "wait I'll walk over with you" megan said as I head out the door and fell off her porch.

I step out of the apartment complex I seen Aaron car sitting across the street and I stumbled my way over to the car and walked up to his window. Megan came up and started talking to him for a little way patted on the back and wished me luck and walked back home. " I called you to ask you to call her and tell her we would be over before we went to the homecoming but you did not answer"Aaron stated though the car window. "I ahh" was all I managed to get out, "so I stopped by thinking maybe you were outside" Aaron went on to explain. "But when I found out where you were I got upset because do you have any Idea what could happen to you in there" he asked as he motion his head towards the Projects. "Im sorry I did not think it would be that bad during the day" I said and nearly fell. " I think there is something wrong with her" Mikey said to Aaron as he leaned over. Aaron looked at mikey then back at me and said "come closer" and I moved a little closer. " your drunk" Aaron said rather surpised. " ah no wwell  yea just maybe a little okay alot but it was not intental" I tried to explain. "mikey get in the back seat amy get in the passenger seat" Aaron ordered. I went around and got into the car sitting down Aaron looked at me " Wow I can not believe you did this what where you thinking" He asked.

"I proceed to tell him about the bong and the 7/7 and things just carried away and I did not mean to actually get drunk. Aaron sat there nodding his head in between shakes and said that he was going to take me home. Once we were sitting in the drive way " listen to me you are going to take this gum chew it go into the house and go right to sleep"Aaron explained. "you are not going to talk to any one but go in and go straight to sleep understand" Aaron asked. "Yes Im going to go in and go to sleep" I repeated back. " if any one asked why your eyes are red say you are sleepy and you did not sleep much last night" Aaron coaced. "its not far from the truth any how" he said then added "I will call you later and we will go to the homecoming tomorrow you need to sleep this off" Aaron gave me a quick hug and I got out of the car and made my way into the house but before I even had a chance to make it to the couch my uncle grabbed me in a great big bear hug. " Hi girl" He said. "Hi" I greeted. I seen the light flash on in his eyes and a smile spread across his face"what have you been up too" he teased. "Nothing just hanging out with friends" I said back. "You look pretty tried" my uncle probed. "yea I did not sleep much last night" I explained. "well you should go take a little nap and Im sure you will sleep it I mean perk right up" He explained. "sounds good" I nodded my head and went into the living room.

I laid on the couch and my uncle came in and leaned over and whisper " next time make sure you are not coming back that messed up or grandma will notice" He advised laughed then walked away.I close my eyes and tried to go to sleep. It took about twenty minutes but I did manage to fall sleep or pass out not really sure which came first. I know I slept for about five hours when my grandmother woke me up to get some thing to eat. It was around seven o'clock when Aaron called by this time the only thing left was a hang over. Aaron went on to do most of the talking and explained how dangerous the apartments are and how much risk that I put myself in and that he cares alot about me to see any thing happen to me. I also heard about how stupid it as to drink and get drunk when I should not have been there in the first place. "

I just dont want any thing happening to you" Aaron pleaded. "Im sorry I was not thinking" I explained. "Just promise me nothing like this will ever happen again" Aaron questioned. "I promise and I mean it" I answered back. "No more megan's with out me there with you alright" Aaron asked. " Alright no more Megans without you" I said I knew that if he would have been there I would never had drank at all so maybe it was best that I did not go there alone. I always did manage to get into trouble with Megan.Aaron and I went on to talk for a little while before he said that he had to get off the phone and told me to feel better he would see me tomorrow.

Aaron came over and picked me up at my house the next evening to go over to homecoming " If Brandon calls Im not here" Aaron joked as he entered my living room "why is that' I asked " cause I told him no about fishing that I was taking you out" Aaron explained  then added "I think he was thinking I was joking with him" we both laughed and he hugged me. Aaron and I sat and talk with my mother for a few minutes before we walked out and got into his car.  "I am really sorry about last night" I said. "hey its forgot" Aaron answered. " Just no more scaring me like that alright" he joked  "okay deal " I said and laughed. We pulled up in front of McDonalds and I looked a little confused as to why we were there. " I thought we would grab some to eat before we went over" Aaron explained. "Okay" I said and got out of the car and Aaron took my hand and led the way. We had a nice little dinner  and Aaron picked on me about the night before while we ate. Afterwards we drove over to the homecoming and walked around the football field for a while then went inside the old school and I gave him the tour of where my classes had been. " I bet it was fun going to school here" Aaron said. "yea for the most part" I answered. "I think it would have been neat" Aaron replied. " I had fun " I answered back. We both agreed it was getting muggy in the old building and decided to step back out into the night air.
