About a year agon I attended Thomas Jefferson High school located on Donaldson in the historic Monticello of San Antonio, Tx. Supposedly the school I attended is one of the oldest in San Antonio, if not then it is the oldest; and rumor has in that the school contains residents that permanently reside within the structure that are known as "ghosts." My encounter with a ghost, or rather an apparition was eerie. I had just arrived in time for school and my favorite class (physics), my teacher Mrs. Whitaker had just come back from her father's funeral. She seemed as though she needed more time off from her teaching duties. She was extremely close to her father and had taken his sudden and unexpected death to heart, it struck her immensely that his death was untimely. On that day I came in and sat in my usual spot, that is: the fourth table on the left side of the room and started my assignment like always, I sparked a short conversation with my friend Robert over the death of Eddie Guerrero; only because the subject of death seemed to engulf the atmosphere. The conversation was soon over and a new conversation was about to out do the original one.
I felt a small tingle travel from my back and up to the base of my spine, I shiver and I shook. I felt uneasy at the moment and asked my friend if he felt uneasy as well, he muttered "no." Shortly after that experience I stated "I think there is something in the room with us" he then called me "crazy" and said that I was "weird." I knew that I wasn't crazy or weird, but I thought that maybe I was just imagining things. I started to ignore my thoughts and focus on my class assignment. Somehow I just couldn't get myself to doing so. At that instant, I felt a cold breeze pass behind me and then a huge black shadow engulfed the curtained seven oversized windows, and the lights flickered on and off. It was unusual, and it left our faces in and "AWE!" expression, we were amazed and more amazed and anyone else in the room was my friend Robert. I was excited, a little frightened but nonetheless excited; I got to say " I told you there was something in the room!" Sounds dumb... right? Could this have been the ghost of my teacher's departed father? Or could it have been a permanent resident of the school? you decide
