"Do you have to go?" I whined.

Kevin chuckled and put his forehead to mine, "Yes sweetie. I have to go." He shook his head and continued. "Don't worry about me so much okay? I'm going with my family and I promise nothing is going to happen."

"Yeah," I sighed, unsure. "That's what you said when you went hunting and then you came back from dinner and your cabin was burned down."

"Hey," he pointed out. "That was a long time ago. Like December."

I laughed. He always tried to make the best out of every situation. "I'm really gonna miss you," I smiled, leaning up on my tiptoes and kissing him softly on the lips. His lips tasted like honey and I leaned into him. "I'll miss you too," he assured me. I gave him a weak smile as I let go of his hand and watched him drive away with his family. Something's up, I thought to myself. I opened my phone and dialed Kevin's number.

"Hello?" he answered.

"What's wrong?" I asked with suspicion.

"There's something I didn't tell you..." he said, sounding full of shame.

"What is it?" I asked, my mood dropping.

"My mom's friend that's staying at the cabin has a daughter our age. The only reason I didn't tell you is because I knew you'd worry about it and stuff."

I nodded, "I see."

"Are you mad?" Kevin asked.

"Just...I don't know. I feel lonely. I feel lied to. I don't know what to say Kevin," I said quietly.

"I'm sorry," he apologized. However, I couldn't tell from his voice whether it was sincere or whether he was annoyed.

"I'll let you go...I'll talk to you when you get back," I whispered.

"I really am sorry. I love you," he assured.

"Love you too." I hung up the phone and fell backwards onto my bed. This was wonderful, I thought. I turned on the computer and impatiently waited for my AIM to load. As soon as I was signed on, an IM popped up.

I was completely shocked. I hadn't talked to Amanda since she accused me of telling on her stepfather for smoking pot.

I was taken aback.

I smiled to myself. I hoped Amanda liked Dominic as I dialed his number and waited for him to answer.

"Hello?" Dominic answered.

"Hey it's Ana," I replied.

"Hey. Ready to head to the pool?" he asked.

I laughed, "How did you know?"

"Just knew," he said, sounding confident of himself. "Can we please go to Horeb," he begged.

"I'm meeting a friend at Buchner though," I explained.

"Oh fine. I'll see you in a few minutes," Dominic responded. "Bye."

I hung up the phone and changed into my swimsuit and put sunscreen on. By the time I was finished, Dominic was outside knocking on the door. "Ready?" he asked.

"Ready," I smiled. Good God, I thought,

it was going to be one long week.
