“Mark Vandenbush?” the doctor called, looking around the waiting room for acknowledgement. Mark stood quickly and made his way to the doctor. He dreaded this moment. His feet felt like they were weighted down.

“Well doc? Are my girls okay?” Mark asked.

The doctor smiled and nodded. “They’re perfectly fine. Bella had just lost a lot of blood and she passed out from it.”

“Thank God,” Mark said relieved.

“You can go see them now if you’d like,” the doctor encouraged. Mark rushed past the doctor and into the room. He saw Bella sitting up in the bed, breast feeding the baby; THEIR baby. She looked up at him and smiled.

“Shhh,” she said as she motioned him to come see the baby. As he got closer, his eyes grew. Their baby girl was beautiful. She had a tuft of dark brown hair on her head and beautiful blue eyes. “Do you want to hold her?” Bella asked. Mark looked up at her and took a deep breath. Then, he nodded. Bella handed the baby over gently. “Watch her head,” she instructed. Mark nodded and gasped as he held the baby in his arms. Tears brimmed at the corners of his eyes and he looked up at Bella and smiled.

“She’s so beautiful,” he exclaimed.

Bella nodded and asked, “What should we name her?”

Mark looked up and laughed. “You waited?”

“Well of course I waited. You’re a large part of that decision too,” she smiled and rested her hand on his arm. “You know, I meant what I said last night.” Mark looked into her eyes, his face puzzled. “I love you. I meant that. I love you Mark Vandenbush.”

“And I love you Bella Vandenbush,” Mark replied, leaning in and kissing her on the cheek. “Now for a name. Hmm…,” he thought aloud.

“How about Andrea? Andrea Lynn?” Bella asked.

“That’s my mother’s name,” Mark smiled. “At least the Andrea part.”

Bella nodded. “I know. Andrea for your mother and Lynn for mine.” Mark handed Andrea back to Bella. He nodded. “It’s perfect.”
