High School Mom[1]
|
Maria walked sulkily down the hallway to her first class at her new school. She looked through the window in the door of the classroom to see that the class had already started; if you could even call it a class. She walked in, not disturbing anyone, and sat down. She looked up and saw a skinny redhead in jeans and a nice blouse sitting on the teacher’s desk. She figured this was Mrs. Cambridge; she was right. This class was supposed to be a free period but everyone was here, talking with Mrs. Cambridge.
She must be the “cool” teacher, Maria thought.
Then, another boy walked in. He had blonde hair and brown eyes. He was so gorgeous he could be America’s next teenage heartthrob. In the midst of her staring, she realized the only spot left in the class was next to her. She moved her stuff and waited but the boy stopped to talk to Mrs. Cambridge. It suddenly became hushed in the classroom; like an inside joke had just happened. Maria just sat there confused. Then, it clicked. His shirt was wrinkled, his hair ruffled and his lips red. He had been “busy” somewhere and it was completely obvious. Maria rolled her eyes and realized this was just like her old school; just like her and Brian. Flashes went through her mind of old memories; skipping classes to have sex in the Brian’s car in the back parking lot, skipping school all day to sexed up Brian. It was hard to please him, he was so much older at 18 almost 19; a college boy. And, now she’d learned her lesson. She was stuck with a baby that was his.
Brian had gotten a scholarship to UCLA for football. She didn’t want to mess that up for him at all. She couldn’t even imagine his reaction. But, she knew he had to know. Finally, the bell rang and she gathered her stuff and walked to the door.
“You’re new right?” a masculine voice with a Southern accent said.
She looked up to see the boy that had walked in late was talking to her. America’s new heartthrob was talking to her!
“Um, yeah,” she replied, nervously tucking her blonde bangs behind her ears.
“Cool, I’m Eric,” he said, extending a hand.
“Maria,” she responded, shaking his hand then quickly letting go.
“You look really familiar,” he said, stopping in front of her to take a good look.
“Why would you think that?” she asked quickly.
“You look like a cheerleader from another school that I had a crush on for a while,” he confessed, blushing slightly.
She laughed, “Which school?”
They started walking again, and Maria looked at her schedule to see what her next class was. She had gym so she turned down the hallway leading to the fieldhouse, hoping she would lose him. She knew he was Brian’s brother’s friend.
“Brookfield East,” he said with a puzzled look on his face.
She bit her lip and said, “I was a cheerleader there for a while.”
“Oh,” he said, blushing and scratching the back of his neck. “Well I gotta go. Nice meeting you Maria.”
“You too,” she mumbled.
She walked into the fieldhouse and asked the gym teacher, Mr. Cambridge, what they were doing.
“Oh you’re the new one! My wife said she just had you for open period. We’re doing gymnastics. Do you need a leotard?” he asked.
“Yeah,” she muttered and took the ugly purple leotard he gave her.
Geez, she thought. I haven’t done this for a whole year. [Well, I got enough votes! Rate and comment because otherwise I can’t keep you posted cuz I won’t know who you are! 6+ rate for the next chapter! Thanks for reading! ~Analyssa~]
