And The Next Story I'm Writing Is...

High School Mom[idea?]

Drama Created on 1-21-08 Views(248) Story Rating G

 Maria was 15 when she had Scarlett. Her family moved across the county all because of her and she wasn’t able to tell Brian, her boyfriend of three years and Scarlett’s father, anything. It was as if she had completely disappeared. Today was her first day at her new school, Meadowvale West High. All she could think about were the rumors that must be spreading around about her. Moving to a new school 40 minutes away in the middle of your sophomore year? Not something you heard everyday. It was a fresh start, she hoped, and according to everyone she had met so far, Scarlett was her little sister—one of her mother’s conditions to keep the baby. It was her sister, not her daughter.

“What a beautiful baby!” the guidance counselor, Ms. O’Hara, exclaimed.

“Oh thank you,” Maria’s mother, Julianne, replied.

“How old is she?” the friendly woman asked.

“Nine months. I had her on Valentine’s Day,” Julianne answered, lying through her teeth.

 Maria just sat there and shook her head. Ugh, she thought, why did I have to keep her? She could be somewhere else better. Instead she’s stuck with my mom at night. My mom…

“Okay Maria,” Ms. O’Hara said, turning to her. “This is your schedule and…”

The sound of the bell to start first period completely droned out the rest of what the counselor had to say.

“What?” Maria asked, clearing her throat.

“Here’s your schedule,” the counselor iterated, passing the paper across the table into Maria’s hand, “and your first class is to the right and down the stairs. The teacher is Mrs. Cambridge.”

“Thanks,” Maria mumbled while gathering her things.

“Bye honey,” her mother said, gleefully.

“Yeah, whatever,” Maria muttered, as she walked out and headed to Mrs. Cambridge’s room.

 {Since I got no ideas for Just Friends, I’m trying to start a new story. Lemme know what you think. It’s still only an idea! Comment and rate! Thanks much…Analyssa}
