Michael, as in Justin’s identical twin brother, Michael. The one I dated for three years, lost my virginity to junior year and the one that proposed to me on graduation day. When I turned him down, he left the party we were at and I hadn’t seen him since then. He was infatuated with me…Justin had told me senior year that Mike had a shrine of me in his bedroom, but being “in love,” I didn’t believe him. It was scary knowing he was there, right in front of me.

“Are you okay, Anna?” Justin asked, concern filling his voice.

I only nodded, still shocked.

Mike laughed haughtily. “Aw, c’mon Anna. We had somethin’. You know we did,” he cooed, lunging toward me. I screamed and ran to Justin.

“Run,” he whispered. “My car’s outside and it’s running. I’ll run out and we’ll drive okay?”

I nodded and ran into the car and sat there, waiting, not sure what was going to happen. Then, Justin ran out screaming, “GO! GO! GO!” as he hopped into the car. I stepped on the gas and the car flew. Once we were onto the highway, I took a deep sigh of relief.

“What the hell was that about?” I asked, keeping my eyes on the road.

“Promise you won’t be mad?” he asked, with innocence.

“Of course! How could I ever be mad?” I asked.

He shrugged and began his explanation. “After we…uh…you know…I called Mike for someone to talk to because I couldn’t reach my mom. So, I told him what happened and he said he’d call you.” He looked up at me for a reaction, seeing the puzzled look on my face and continued. “I’m guessing he didn’t.” I shook my head no and he continued. “Well, then I gave him your cell number and he said he’d call. That’s all that happened.”

“Yeah, well then how the fuck did he find out where I lived?” I screamed.

“I don’t know and I’m sorry if me giving him your number had anything to do with it,” Justin said, apologetically.

“It’s alright,” I replied, pulling into the restaurant’s parking lot. “It’s just scary after not seeing him for so long and then he just turned up at my house and kissed me.”

Justin nodded and rubbed her back, “It’ll be okay. I promise. I found a permanent apartment out here. So I’m not going anywhere. If you ever need a place to stay, I’m here.”
