Julia was confused, and she knew he was drinking her blood. What was she supposed to do? Pull away or stay put? She wasn’t sure what this meant at all. Then, Matt stopped.

“I’m so sorry,” he said, looking around cautiously while wiping his mouth.

Julia flicked her tongue against the small cut on the inside of her lower lip and tasted her blood. She closed her eyes, holding back tears, unsure of what to do. Matt softly caressed her cheek with his large hand.

“It was an accident,” he explained, “really it was. It’s just that I haven’t fed for months actual human blood; only animals, like I had told you.  And the scent of your blood drew me in. The scent of your blood is like the scent of alcohol to drunks.”

Julia only nodded, listening intently, her eyes still closed. Matt knew he had scared her. Julia stood up and looked down at him.

“I don’t know what to do after that. I really like you…a lot, but what if you do hurt me, Matt?” she questioned, “What if you changed me? Then what?”

Seeing how frightened she really was, Matt grabbed Julia’s hand and led her to his car.

“Let’s go for a ride and I will explain everything to you,” he responded to her earlier questioning.

Julia drew back, unsure. “I’m not sure that’s such a good idea. I mean, we’ll miss afternoon classes and…”

“Please?” Matt interjected.

Julia sighed heavily. “Okay, let’s go.”

Matt opened the passenger door and helped Julia into the car. He went around to the other side, hopped in and they sped off into the gorgeous afternoon sunlight.

Sorry it's so short, I kinda forgot I had this story going. I have a couple chapters written now so if I get 5+ rates on this one, I'll post the others. Thanks again!
