I was shocked; so shocked I thought my heart was going to stop completely. He loved me back. After all this time, I was able to admit to myself I was in love with Justin. I didn’t think this day would ever come, and it finally did. I quickly dressed in a nice, slim-fitting turquoise sweater and a pair of my nicer jeans. I wanted to look nice when I told him I loved him, didn’t I? Then, I became nervous. I didn’t know where he was, and I wasn’t sure how to talk to him. What if he didn’t mean it as in love? What if he was meaning as a sister or just friends?  Oh no, I thought. I can’t call him, I can’t see him. What do I do?

Then, my phone rang again. It was Justin. I hesitated a bit, but then I answered.

“Hello?” I answered, quietly.

“Hey,” he said, with what sounded like a sigh of relief.

“Oh, hey,” I said, trying to sound casual, “what’s up?”

“Nothing, I just wanted to tell you sorry for before if you didn’t get my message,” he replied. “Are you okay? You sound stressed.”

Trying to play it cool, I responded, “No, no. I’m just fine. Just a little tired, that’s all.”

“Oh well, guess what I found downtown?” he said, with enthusiasm.

“What?” I asked, confused.

“Kim’s Garden!” he yelled into the phone.

I laughed. Kim’s Garden was my favorite Chinese restaurant back in Ohio when we were kids and I bet Justin in the 9^th grade that we would never find another one in the United States. “I guess this means you want your million bucks, huh?”

“Nah! I just wanted to say I told ya so!” he said, jokingly. “Well, you wanna go to dinner? My treat!!”

“Oh, Justin, no! I have money, I’ll pay for myself!” I said, pleadingly, knowing that he exactly what he was going to say next.

“Absolutely not!” he urged, “Oh, c’mon Anna! Let me pay? Oh please? Please, please, please?”

I laughed at his pretend begging. “Oh, alright. But I leave the tip,” I explained.

“Fine,” he said with a pout. “I’ll pick you up in an hour?”

“Sounds like a plan,” I answered with a smile.

“See ya then,” he said, hanging up the phone.

I flipped my phone shut and immediately started rushing around, looking for make-up and nicer clothes. I looked like a shmuck. So, I went to my closet and searched for something to wear. I ended up picking a nice red lacy tank top with a white cardigan and black pants. I looked like I was going to a job interview. But, I needed to impress Justin. As, I looked at the clock, the doorbell rang. The hour had gone by quickly and I ran to the door, stopping in front of the mirror to make sure I looked alright.  I opened the door and smiled as I looked Justin up and down. He was wearing his favorite cowboy boots, a sweater that fit his chest and arms just right and a pair of snug jeans that showed every ripple of his muscular legs. I bit my lip and began to blush.

“You look beautiful,” he said, quietly.

And with that, he pushed me inside and kissed me hard on the mouth.
