Chapter 1
  Jade was heartbroken. She was torn into pieces when her parents told her they were getting a divorce. She was 15 years old and felt her life was spinning

out of control. She didn't know where to turn. Her parents weren't there for her anymore and she really had noone at school. Ever since everyone found out

about her attempt at suicide things were never the same.
  You see it started when her parents started fighting. They would always argue over the littlest things and it upset her. Her dad started getting violent.

He started throwing things at her mother but never actually hit her. The very day they started fighting was the very same day a few of the knives went

missing. They never thought anything of it and Jade was glad they didn't know what was happening. She was slitting her wrists everynight when she heard

them start to argue. She didn't make them to deep but deep enough to bleed a little. This went on for months then one day she got so sick of it she got

her mothers anti-depressent pills and took six then made great big gashes in her arms. Her parents found her in her room and rushed her to the hospital.

Ever since then nothing has been the same. They tried to keep it quiet but word got out and then everyone knew. All the neighbors, the whole school and her

whole family found out. She was very lonely in school. Everyone stayed away, would give her weird looks and treated her like she wasn't human.
  Now we come back to the present when her parents tell her they're getting divorced. You see Jade didn't take this to well. She got angry with her

parents and started screaming. "How can you do this to me?" screams Jade, " what the hell is worng with you two? I thought you loved each other? I cant

deal with this! I hate both of you so much!" Jades mother crying, "It's just we've been fighting so much and nothing has been working not even counseling.

We just thought it'd be better if we just went our seperate ways." "Your seperate ways!", Jade screams in a mocking tone, "You want to go your seperate

ways!" "Yes we do Jade and I'm sorry but this is just better for all of us.", says her father. "Better for all of us?", Jade cries, " how is this better for

all of us? It's better for both of you not me. I need parents there for me both of them together." "Well it just won't happen that way. Would you rather

us end up killing eachother?", her mother cries. "No but I just I I I don't know. I just don't know", Jade says. Jade now in tears runs to her room and

slams and locks the door. "Jacob, What are we going to do?", says her mother, " i don't want her to try to kill herself again, but honestly i can't live with

you anymore." "I don't know Rebecca.", says her father, "We just have to go through with this and let her decide what to do." With a sigh Rebecca grabs

her coffee and heads back to her room. Jacob just sits down on his chair and thinks about how everything used to be so great until everything at work went

to hell.
  The marriage had been falling apart for months now and they had decided a few weeks ago to get a divorce to stop all the fighting and stress. They had

just decided to tell Jade today and knew things wouldn't go great, but hoped that it wouldn't have been this bad. He wished that she just understood that

this was for the best. They were doin this so she didn't have to hear them fight anymore. He knew it was hard on Jade and he didn't want to see her

suffer anymore. He just hoped she would one day understand that this was in her best interest. With finally finishing his coffee he gets up and goes into the

guest bedroom to sleep.
