Life Can Be Cruel [Chapter 1]

Chapter 1

"Baby, are you down, down, down, down, down? Down, down Even if the sky is falling down?!" I rolled over and unplugged my alarm clock.

Next thing I know, someone is yelling at me. "Amber, you better get your butt out of this bed right this minute!"

"Butit'stoearly..." I managed to mumble.

"Amber Rose! Do you want to be late for your first day of school?!"

Ugh, when she said my full name like that, she meant business. So I rolled out of bed and shuffled my feet over to my bathroom. I started the shower and got in.

Maria was the only one who could get me out of bed. Even my own parents couldn't. Not that they were ever around enough to try...

I got out of the shower and wrapped my long cherry blonde hair in a towel. I walked out of my bathroom and into my walk-in closet. I changed into a pair of jeans and a black tank top, along with my favorite pair of DCs.

"Good morning." Maria greeted me as I slid down the banister.

"Good morning Maria" I replied as I sat down in the kitchen.

"I made your favorite."

"Yum!" She placed a plate of crêpes in front of me. She made the best crêpes ever. I ate them as fast as humanly possible and thanked her as I grabbed my school bag and keys.

"Have a good day!" She yelled before I walked out the door.

Once outside I through my bag into the back of my convertible and hopped into the drivers seat. I turned on the radio and I left to go start my first day of junior year.

Today's going to be a good day, I can feel it. I thought to myself. But I had no idea how wrong I was...
