Until Angels Close My Eyes--Epilogue

Life for me now has changed drastically, ever since I first started high school. Things have happened to me that I thought I would never experience. The loss of a loved one; the death of the one I wanted to marry.

It's been five years since all of these unwelcome circumstances took place. And even though the moment has passed, the memories have not. I'm still haunted with Lexi, and her death. I'm still left to wonder why God had to take her so soon, when we had so much to look forward to.

I'll never know the answer until I can be face to face with God, and ask him myself. Then I'll be reunited with Lexi, and we'll do the things we always wanted to before she died.

I went back to college, after I came back home from California, and I majored in psychology. It's kind of interesting, and a bit beneficial to me.

Me and Katrina started dating, and we are now engaged to get married in the spring. Don't think that Katrina is taking Lexi's place, because that isn't true. Lexi will always have a special place within me. And yes it is still hard for me to move on with Katrina, but I feel like I have to do it for me. I have to continue living my life, as best I can.

I promised Lexi I would, and I shall never break her trust.

After I graduated from college, I got a call from my Mother. She told me that my Uncle Mike had passed away, but I never was clear on how he died. We flew back to California for the services and the burial. He was buried next to his wife, and it made me feel a bit better knowing he wouldn't be alone. He would be back with the woman he loved so very much. The same as I hope to be, when my time comes. But that will happen all in good time. Now I have a life to live and people to please.

Lexi will always be a part of me, no doubt. And every time I look up at the vast blue sky, I will imagine her looking down at me, smiling that beautiful sparkling smile.

Forever in my heart, she embraces me like no other.
