 I left the guys to go home and change, i wasn't in the right apparel for a party. Walking down the street the wind blew strongly, bring chills upon me. Leaves were caught in the gusts of wind and carried down the street and off into the darkness. The moon was the only light, there wasn't any street lights here, it was almost total darkness, except that moon.

 As i walked towards my house the palm trees creaked in the wind, and i could hear the silent whispers of the land. They called out to me, through the breeze my name could almost be heard, Will, Will. It reminded me of my Moms sweet quiet voice, for a moment, i could feel her with me again. I walked into my house past my Dad who was asleep on the couch with beer surronding him.

 I walked into my and my sisters room and found her silently dreaming. I made my way quietly to the dresser and pulled out some jeans, and a black shirt that was given to me from a friend and put them on. I then reached over and held my Moms Jewlery chest in my hands and opened it. Inside were the treasures she loved so dear. Also there was the silver chain she bought me several months ago before she died. I put it on and sat the chest where it belonged and walked out the room.

When i arrived back to Ray's house i could see dozens of cars pulling up to the house and alot of girls and guys piled into the house. Some chilled out side with the boom boxes and coolers of beer. I guess one beer or so wouldn't hurt me. I walked up to Ray and hey stood up "Didnt think ya would come" he grinned and i laughed, "Why wouldn't i man?" I went to the cooler and took out a beer popped it open and chugged it down.

2 hours went by quick and i was hanging out with this girl name Kaite who recently arrived at the party. She was pretty, but i didn't like her whore personality. I got up and went to find Ray and his friend Big D. I walked up the stairs where the party wasn't yet to. I opened the door i heard voices behind and found Ray and some other guys smoking stuff. "Hey man" a short mexican guy called over, "Want a hit?" they asked. "I donno man," i said, "Come on" Ray teased.

I shook my head yes and took a joint. Within a short time i was high as a kite, i never had seen things in this view before. I was laughing so hard i would fall over if i tried to stand. Ray thought i was a hillarious dude and kept choking with laughter. We walked down stairs and went out front to chill. We were sitting on the benches when a car drove up.

"Are they coming for the party dude?" i asked Ray and he all of a sudden went stiff, "get down now" he whispered and idropped to the ground as all hell broke loose. "DRIVE BY!" Some chick yelled as guns broke out. The car had at least 6 dudes and they all pulled out their guns and shot at everyone. I was scared shitless, i looked at Ray and his friends pulled out guns i didn't know they even had and opened fire. Killing 3 guys instantly as the remaining guys continued the shooting.

Eventually they hopped in the car and speed off leaving the people they shoot to bleed to death. I hurried over to Ray who was standing still, "are you okay?" i asked and he slowly turned around with his hand on his stomach. Blood was gushing out and revealed a mess of blood and flesh. His eyes rolled into the back on his head, he dropped the gun, and fell to the floor. I didn't know what to do, everyone else was taking their drugs and running, everyone was leaving the party before the cops came.

I pulled out his cell and it was bloody, i dialed 911, i told them that there was a drive by and to please come, quick. I was afraid, but i couldn't stay, i would get arrested, so i left Ray for the ambulance and ran home, my shirt drenched in Rays blood.

I felt like worried, scared, and confused as i walked up to my yard. "What happened?" A voice called over to me, oh great perfect timing i thought. "Oh hey Jasmie" i said, "A..." was all i could say before she saw the blood on my shirt. "OH MY GOD ARE YOU OKAY?" i nodded, "its not my blood, Ray was shot" I lowered my head, "I was over there and there was a drive by, i called the cops and left before they arrived." i whispered and she had a tear run down her face.

"I have known Ray for years, i hope he is okay" she whispered and i shook my head "I hope he is okay too." I went inside and changed then laid down in my bed and tried to fall asleep. I knew what just happened would give me bad dreams, but staying up wasn't any better.
