Stand In The Rain [{(prolog)}]

Creative Created on 11-25-07 Views(96) Story Rating G

She looks out her window. It’s raining. Well of course it’s raining, when was it ever not raining. Never. She lived in a small gloomy town/city that was so small it was uncharted. There were 5 lakes that surrounde the town, so it was basically an uncharted island in the middle of nowheres land.  The only people who went there had family that lived there or lived there. The population was something like 4,248 and most of it was teenagers. Snobby preppy teenagers. She was one of them on the outside but on the inside she was unique, one of a kind, a prodigy.

She hated sports but if you didn’t play sports you were an outcast. If you liked music -now I’m not talking about rock, rap, country, pop, and all the other stuff people listen to these days, I’m talking about Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin and all the others, where you can close your eyes and just, just feel what they were feeling when they wrote the song- then your an obviously a loser, geek, or nerd.

So she played sports -volleyball, basketball, tennis, and track- listened to ‘normal’ music, got decent grades, and didn’t dare standing out. She played piano but only when no one was around and no one ever knew about it -well except for him and her parents. Her beautiful grand piano -’her baby’ as she called it- was in her attic. Whenever she had time she would go in her attic and play/practice.

Well anyways her name was Destiney; Destiney Natasha James. She was 16, brown eyes and naturally brown hair that she always died black. She was 5’5”, average weight and very pretty, even though she never believed it. She had the perfect boyfriend for her -what I mean is everyone is perfect for someone else and he was perfect for her and no one else.

His name was Andrew-Drew for short. He had hazel eyes-well they changed color so everyone called them hazel- black hair, and 5’10”. He was pretty cute -lots of people were hotter, lots were uglier- and he was considered a jock but he wasn’t one of them even though he acted like it. All they guys were basically like the girls -think your better then everyone else; stuck up; haters.

Okay, now you know basically all you need to know for now so lets get back to this ‘story’ as you might call it. It’s a normal Saturday morning, raining but yet somewhat peaceful. She sits on her ‘window seal’-it was more like a big ledge next to her window but she called it a window seal- holds her knees and just stares outside her 2nd story bedroom window. She watches the rain come down ever so peacefully. It was the only time she could clear her thoughts and be herself.

Watching the rain was her ‘drug’ as you could call it. She could let all her pain out just like some people scream, cut themselves, or cry, except if she screamed people would here her and think she was insane, and if she cut herself or cried she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to stop.

So there she was watching the rain falling down as her pain started to disappear, wishing she was the rain and she could just be so, so free. Then when she was deep in thought her phone started ringing. “So stand in the rain stand your ground..”-stand in the rain by superchick. She looks at her phone to see who was calling. It was Drew. Why would he be calling this early? It’s like 10:30 on a Saturday!

“hello?”

“Hey. Destiney?”

 “Yeah”

“I need to talk to you”

“Okay. Talk.”

“I mean like in person”

“Okay so when and where, I don’t know if you realized, but its raining.”

“Yeah I know. Uhm how about 1:30 at the park. It should be done raining by then”

“Okay sounds good see you then” “Bye”

“Bye”

Oh my god, she thought, why didn’t he say ‘I love you’ he always says that even when we’re arguing. Something’s wrong, Something has to be wrong. But the question is what. She sits there and thinks trying to figure out what was wrong.

“Well I guess the only way to find out is to wait.”
