Kristan and I sat in the same seats as the day before. She immediately started hammering me with questions.

"Were you with Amaury yesterday? Did he pick you up from school this morning? Are you two going out?!" she asked more enthusiatic that I thought she should be.

I hesitated before answering. "Yes, kind of, and no.

"What do you mean 'kind of'," she asked.

"Well, I was walking and it turns out he was following me, waiting for me to notice him I think, until I turned around. After that he offered me and ride and you know the rest."

"Why was he holding your hand then if you aren't going out?" she challenged.

"I'm not sure. He grabbed it and I let him hold it, not wanting to hurt his feelings," I lied weakly. "I let go when I saw you though, but not quick enough because here you are, asking questions," I told her, laughing lightly.

She pouted slightly. "I was curious." By this time, class was over and I raced out of the room, anxious to see Amaury.

To my suprise he was standing in front of my locker when I arrived. "Hi," I said, and a giant grin climbed onto my face. It slowly faded though after I saw his expression. He was staring intently at my face as if he was concentrating ery hard on something.

He took my hand and led mt to our next class. Everyone wass staring. It probably looked like we were together on the outside. I wished, but that would never happen because I wanted to remain human.

After second hour, the day went by in a blur. I sat next to Amaury and talked to him a lot, but that was all I remembered. After school, he offered to drive me home again and I gratefully accepted.

Instead of driving toward my house, he drove in the opposite direction. "Umm...where exactly are you taking me?" I asked after a few minutes.

"My house," he answered quickly. I decided that I would soon find out why and decided not to ask. As the car stopped, I reached to open my door but Amaury's hand stopped me.I looked at him questioningly.

"I just have to talk to you alone. We don't have to go inside," he told me.

"But it's cold out here. Not that I object to being alone with you..." My sentence trailed off. Wow. I seriously just said that out loud. When I looked at him he just smiled and there was a strangely soft expression on his face.

"Well, I don't mind being alone with you either," he chuckled. "But I suppose we could go inside." He left the car and simlutaneously he was pulling me out of my seat.

Amaury didn't wait for me. He just scooped me up into his arms and ran until we were in his room. This time he set me on the dresser and sat on the bed himself.

"So, what was it you wanted to talk about?" I asked conversationally.

He patted the spot next to him on the bed. I shyly walked over and sat down.

"You know how we were talking about being together? You know, as vampires?" I nodded, so he continued. "Well, I was wondering if we could be together while you're still human. Would so you much object to that?"

"No, that would be amazing!" I nearly screamed. "I mean...that would be great. Uhh...that would be-" He cut me off with a finger to my lips. Then he brought his cold hand to my cheek and kissed me.
