I really had no idea what to say. "Umm...," I started but then stopped again. After a few full minutes of carefully planning in my head, I told Amaury my answer.

"I don't think I can do that right now. I mean, that would mean I would have to drop out of school and leave my friends and family. I'm sorry but for the time being, my answer is no." I finished and realized that I was looking down and whispering. I looked back up at his face which looked as if someone had just slapped him.

He tried to speak in full sentences, but failed miserably. "I...you wouldn't...after awhile..." He looked away and took his hand from mine.

"Aww, come on. Don't do that. You're making me feel horrible." He looked at me and attempted to give a fake smile.

"I think it's about time I took you home," he said as he walked to his bedroom door. He beckoned with his index finger for me to follow and exited the room.

Eventually, we got to the front door and went to Amaury's car. He opened my door for me and walked to the driver's side. He drove in complete silence which I mimicked perfectly. We had pulled into my driveway when I broke the silence.

"Bye Amaury. I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" I looked at him and he didn't seem to have heard me. I stepped out of the car and turned around knowing that the windows were rolled down. "I'm really sorry. I just kind of-"

He held up his hand. "It's fine, I'll get over it." With that, he backed out of the driveway and drove down the road. I stared until the car was out of sight.

There I was, open mouthed and horrified at what I had just done. I had caused Amaury a lot of pain, that was obvious. I would just have to wait until tomorrow to see what could be done about that. I walked into my house.

Mom and Dad were waiting for me in the front room. They both had their arms crossed with angered expressions on their faces. Just then, the clock chimed seven times signaling that it was then seven o'clock.

Wow! I had been gone for four extra hours? "Hey, Mom. Dad," I said looked at each of them as I said their names.

"Natalya Elizabeth Noyes! Where have you been?" My mother asked in a terrified tone. "We've been worried sick!"

"I was studying at Kristan's house." I was amazing at lying when it was needed.

"During the first week of school you have something to study for?" Shoot.

"Umm...well we have this math thing to see how much we learned last year." So maybe that wasn't completely true, but oh well. Luckily, my parents trusted me enough to drop the subject and allow me to escape to my room. I decided that I would do my homework (The fist week of school and I already had homework. This was going to be a fabulous year.)

At about 9 I was practically asleep at my desk already, so I trudged over to my bed. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. In my dreams, I relived the horrors of my day over and over again. It was the worst set of nightmares I had ever had.

 I am SO sorry for the long wait. School is finally catching up to me so I haven't had much time to write. I'll try to get part 8 out within the next few days, but I'm not going to make any promises.     -Tara
