The room we entered appeared to be a library, but it had more books than any library I had ever been to. A man with dark brown hair sat in a chair on the other side of the room. He looked up as we walked toward him.

"Hello Amaury, and hello...?" He looked at Amaury.

"Natalya," he answered. As he said my name, Kai's eyebrows rose. He stood up, closed his book, and walked over to where Amaury and I stood.

"Hello Natalya. Your name holds a certain meaning over Amaury and I, but I'm sure he has already told you a bit about our past," he said as he shook my hand.

I was about to say something, but Amaury spoke for me. "It is her Kai. I found her. I haven't been able to explain anything to her though."

"Well what are you waiting for? Find me again when you are finished." Having said that, he walked back to his chair and resumed reading. Amaury sighed and pulled me from the room. He proceded to take me through more labyrinthine hallways, and when we got back to the main level of the house, he spoke again.

"We're going to my room," he said,"We need more privacy and Aiden isn't going to leave us alone." We walked into a room with only a bed, dresser, bookshelf, and absolutely no windows.

He let go of my hand and told me to sit down. I walked to the bed and sat, then Amaury sat on top of his dresser. "So I'm sure you're pretty curious." I nodded so he continued.

"Kai, Aiden, and I have known you since you were about a year old. We had been trying to find other people to turn when we came across you. Vampires were slowly being killed and our numbers were fading. We all thought that we were doomed until we found you. Only you and two other children were able to survive the first blood exchange, which is probably what gave you the ability to sense vampires.

To turn a human into a vampire, you have to go through two blood exchanges. The first one gives you half vampiric blood, but has no major side effects. The second one turns you into a full vampire. It gives you immortality, the need for human blood, and sensitivity to sunlight along with some other non-important things. Of course we would have waited until you were closer to my age though.

Shortly after the first exchange, your parents found out what we were doing to you. They took you away and we had been searching for you for years. Until today, we had no idea where you had gone or if you had even survived. Any questions?" Amaury finally concluded.

I couldn't believe my ears. "So, what you're saying is that I should be a vampire right now?" He nodded so I asked another question. "And me being able to sense vampires isn't just because I'm weird or different?

"Oh, you're definitely different," he said. The way he said it I couldn't be sure if it was meant to be taken as a compliment or an insult. "But no. That is not why you can sense us. It is because of the exchange."

"Ok. Who exchanged the blood with me? I mean, who's blood is inside me right now?"

He smiled a little before answering. "Mine. I did one exchange and so did Kai and Aiden." I didn't know why, but the thought of Amaury's blood running through my veins made me exuberant.

"You also said that you were going to wait until I was closer to your age." He nodded again. "Why?"

He grabbed hold of my hand again. "Because Natalya, I made you. I did the first exchange and I was supposed to do the second. You were supposed to be mine." He looked into my eyes. So now I guess its up to you. Whether you want to do the final exchange or not."
