Covered In Bruises {Part 5}

She knew what she was doing. She needed to release her pain and fear somehow, and this was the only way.

She dug the blade into her wrist and dragged it toward her elbow. The blood started dripping to the floor. She now had a cut that was three inches long.
She sat there and stared at the cut. A smile slowly formed on her face. She felt alot better now. She didn't know it would work this well. She didn't have to worry about people seeing it. She never showed her arms anyway.

She leaned her head back against the wall. She let the sweet nothingness consume here. She felt numb. She didn't even feel the sting you usually feel when you get cut. She felt......free.

She wanted that feeling to stay. It had been a very long time since she had felt free. She didn't want it to fade. But her dad would be getting home soon. She knew she had better clean up the small puddle of blood that had formed on the floor.

She made sure that the cut had stopped bleeding before she pulled down her sleeve. Then she got up to get a wet towel. When she was about to start cleaning, the phone rang.

"Hey, babe." His voice sounded slurred on the other end of the phone. "I'm coming over, okay?" He asked as if threatening her to say no.

"Yeah, sure. I'll be here." She said in a voice just loud enough for him to hear.

"Good." He said and hung up the phone. She was frightened.

That feeling of freedom was washed away within a minute. The feeling she was trapped had returned. Tears sprang to her eyes.

She ran back to the bathroom and cleaned up the blood. Then she sat down with her back against the wall, and she pulled up her sleeve. She wanted the feeling back. The feeling that she was free. No longer trapped in this nightmare. She dug the blade in a different spot on her wrist. This one was not as long as the first.

As soon as the blood started flowing out of the wound, she grabbed the towel and held it to her skin. She really didn't feel like cleaning up again. She felt that unfamiliar feeling starting to creep up again.

There was a knock at the door. And the feeling faded.

She sighed and then pulled down her sleeve. She hid the towel under some clothes in her bedroom and went to answer the door.

He was standing there, looking angry.

"What the fuck took you so long?" He asked. She thought she hadn't taken more than 30 seconds.

"I'm sorry. I had to put something up first." She said knowing that wouldn't be the end of it.

"When's your dad coming home?" He asked. She knew that even if her dad showed up at that second, she would still be punished.

"Any minute now." She replied.

He grabbed her wrist and yanked her out the door. She winced.

"We are going to my house." He said dragging her behind him. She knew he was drunk. She wondered how his parents didn't notice how their son was always drunk.

She didn't say a word. She just followed. Looking at the ground. Soon they arrived at his house.

As soon as he opened the door he threw on the floor. He slammed the dorr shut behind him. He quickly walked up to her and punched in the face.

She tasted the blood in her mouth.

After that he pushed against a wall and kicked her in the stomache. Today he was showing no mercy. When she doubled-over holding the spot he kicked, he grabbed her head and smashed it against his knee.

She felt light-headed and sick. She fell to the floor half unconscience. He kicked her in the ribs when she was down. The breath was knocked out of her.

She was drifting further and further toward complete unconsciencness.

With a hit to the side of the head, she fell into the darkness.
