  • “Taylor....” I complained.
  • “Mhm?” he mumbled from the crook in my neck. He lifted his face so he could see my sweaty features and laughed.
  • “Stop it! It’s not funny!” I whined trying to sit up. He pushed me back down. I landed with a grunt, yet I tried it again. This time, he sat up as well. My face was directly in his chest, so you could probably figure out where my chest was...
  • “Jae...” he called softly. I looked up at him and he held my face between his hands. Slowly, he laid me back down onto the bed, keeping my nose to his and his mesmerizing eyes on mine the whole time. Please don’t let him kiss me; please don’t let him kiss me, I screamed in my head, shutting my eyes. His hot breath cascaded over my cheeks and I knew it was about to happen. It was only a matter of time before....
  • The knob on my door turned and it was opened to reveal Eros standing there. I gasped and my eyes shot open. Taylor was gone. I sat up, scanned my room, and sighed in relief.
  • “You alright?” Eros asked.
  • “Terrific.” I breathed.
  • “Are you sure? It sounded like you were wrestling a crocodile.” He frowned. I laughed nervously. ‘Close enough’ I thought. He smiled and exited my room and went down the stairs. I was about to follow when I spotted something I’ve never seen in my room before. A silver and black necklace in the shape of a dragon was sitting on my nightstand. Glancing over my shoulder at the door, I grabbed the pendant and walked towards the window, where I reopened it and hurled Taylor as far as I could throw. His faint voice grunting incoherent things signified I had done my job. I bounced down the stairs and into the kitchen to get something to eat since Eros’ plan for dinner had been ruined by Keith’s violent behavior. So far I had found left-over cheese pizza, a grape soda, and a bag of Cheetos and was carrying it all to the table when the front door was slammed open. Keith stood there dripping wet with something clutched in his hand.
  • “Oy, ahlo Jamie!” he waved and strode over to me.
  • “Hi.” I mumbled.
  • “You’ll neva guess what I found!
  • “That’s real nice, Keith, but I kinda need to set this plate down before it burns my hand--”
  • “I was outside when all of thuh sudden,” he held out his hand to show.....Taylor. “This here necklace whacked mey in thuh head!”
  • The bag of Cheetos dropped from my mouth when I gawked at him. So he was the one who was cussing, not Taylor!? Then where did—
  • “Oh, by thuh way, one of ya friends are here.” He motioned towards the door where Taylor was standing. He twittered his fingers at me in a teasing way.
  • “YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!” I boasted.
  • “I know!” Keith yelled. “Who would throw such a beautiful necklace out?!”
  • “Yes...who would throw a dragon necklace out their window?” Taylor asked with raised eyebrows. I grinned sheepishly at him. Eros came storming from his room and went up to Keith to nag when he saw Taylor standing beside me.
  • “Oh....Hello.” he greeted confusedly.
  • “Ugh...” I groaned, finally setting the items in my arms down. “Taylor, Sean, Sean, Taylor.” I introduced.
  • “Pleasure.” Eros smiled sticking his hand out. Taylor accepted it, shook it, and smiled back.
  • “Charmed.” He replied.
  • “So you’re the Taylor I’ve heard so much about?” Eros asked. What?! I haven’t said a thing about Taylor to Eros! Unless.....shiiiiitake mushrooms!!!!! I knew it!
  • “Yes that I am.” He nodded. “Did Jae mention me before?”
  • Eros took a deep breath through his nose and avoided any eye contact. He toyed with a speck of lent on his shirt nonchalantly. “Something like that.” He muttered. His finger ran across the counter in odd designs, his eyes flickering up to mine with a hard expression. Something cold leaked onto my arm and I held it up. Ok, so this time he was the writer and I was the notebook. On my skin was:

  •   Even if they were just words, they expressed how furious he was at the moment. I winced at the thought of him pacing back and forth—his hands behind his back—while he played 20 questions with me again. Then again, it wasn’t my fault I forgot to tell him about Taylor being a dragon and all. Too many weird things kept happening for me to focus! I didn’t want to be around any of them now. Keith, because he dragged Taylor back here, Taylor, for seducing me, and Eros, for being so...so....prude! I mean seriously! He is a man—myth or not. And men do have repulsive thoughts. But he was a different story all together.  No wonder Psyche was going to kill herself.... what am I saying? I shouldn’t say that because I have no business in their relationship! Even if he was running away from her....
  • I snapped out of my train of thoughts when Taylor chuckled at Keith’s bragging. To my dismay, Eros was gone. I excused myself and walked to his room, hoping he wasn’t waiting for me.
  • “Eros?” I called gliding the door open. He turned around, sheets in hand, and looked as if he was shocked that I was there.
  • “When I said we’ll talk later, I meant it. Go ahead and hang with you friend. I’ll be fine.” He reassured, forcing a smile that anyone who just met him would’ve fallen for, but I caught it. He faced his bed again and continued with separating the sheets that Keith had and hadn’t ruined....yet. I stood behind him for a minute, thinking if I should approach him or not. I observed the room he had settled for almost a month ago. It was no bigger than a washing room—big enough for a regular sized bed, dresser, and a desk—and somehow fitted him perfectly. The west wall had a small window which was next to his bed. His dresser was at the foot of that while the desk occupied the wall alongside the door. Small, but roomy. I inhaled his intoxicating scent and sauntered over to him. My arms weaved themselves around his waist and my head rested between his shoulder blades like I had done earlier. He paused. I thought he was about to say something so I quieted my breathing to listen. Instead, he swung his arm over my shoulder and pulled me around to the front. He tucked my head under his chin and sighed deeply.
  • Only one of us was new at the whole ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ and I felt like I was missing out on an important detail to love. But I couldn’t get any closer to love as it was. My boyfriend was the freaking God of Love for Pete’s sake. I loved that thought. Smiling, I snuggled closer to his figure until he pulled back to look in my eyes. He held my face in his hands, leaning down to press his lips to mine. Our second kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck to deepen it and he did the same to my waist. Though it seemed as if we weren’t alone...
