When we got back to St. Nick, it was almost nine in the morning. Sho dropped me off at Laura’s house, and when I got there, Laura wasn’t answering the door…

“You wanna come next door with me?” Sho asked.

“Sho, not right now, Laura gotta be in this house, it’s nine in the fuckin’ morning!!!”

I banged on Laura’s front door again.

“Well did you call her?”

“No,” I said. “What a fuckin’ jackass…”

I pulled out my cell and called Laura.

“Hello?” she answered, sounding like she was wide awake.

“Laura where are you?????” I asked.

“In the bathroom, at my house…” she said.

“Well, I’m at the door!”

I smiled at Sho, then wrapped my arms around his shoulders, and he wrapped his arms around my waist and grabbed my booty…

Then all of a sudden Laura’s front door swang open and she caught me and Sho kissing.

He went up the hall to his auntie house, and me and Laura went inside.

“So what happened, Cee?” she asked ready for details.

“Well just tell me, Cee…” she begged.

“No, Laura, because when you start smoking that weed and shit, you start actin’ a ass.” I said… “and this shit can’t get to my brother…”

“Well then, what you gon’ do if everybody already know y’all together?” she asked.

“I don’t know Laura… but then the age difference is what makes it worse… what me and Sho gon’ do?”

“Y’all might have to keep it on the downlow…” she said.

“But that shit hard…” I said. “Sho give me a rush, bitch don’t you notice?!!”

“You is crazy… but make sure you watch that hoe Shaneka, because that’s a sneaky two-faced bitch…”

“Girl, Shaneka could kiss my fat ass…” I said.

Laura started laughin’.

“Bitch you’s a real trip!!!”

“Yup, yup… girl fuck Shaneka… I’m sure she can step to this if she feel there’s something we need to resolve…”

When me and Laura went outside for the day, it was three o’ clock. We both ended up going back to sleep since then, but then once we woke up, we went to the Chinese Resteraunt nearby St. Nick and got us something to eat. We ate our food inside the place to avoid them begging ass children we was about to go chill with. We went over by Chantal’s house and chilled, but nobody was really over there…

“Daannng where everybody at?” I asked once we reached her house.

She was on the porch eating sunflower seeds.

“I think everybody at the court…” she said.

“Well why you ain’t over there?” Laura asked.
“Girl, I had enough of y’all stupid asses last night, had me comin’ inside at six in the morning’, bitch my mama was finna kick my ass…” she explained.

“Ain’t nobody tell y’all to go way to no Brooklyn,” I said.

“And where were you last night Miss Celicia. We saw you was gone, and we started to file a missing person report on you girl…” she teased.
“Nowhere, I went home without Laura…” I said.

“Oh…. Sho was gone, too…” she said giving me a suspicious look. “Speaking of Sho, Shaneka dragged after you over that dude… and I bet that slut gon’ be all in your face, matter fact, let’s go to the basketball court… if them niggas over there I know she there…”

So me, Laura and Chantal went to the basketball court, and sho’nuff… the boys were there, and so was Shaneka, along with Kim and Nadia even… Sho was out there too, and Shaneka was all over him, but I wasn’t even tripping. I thought that I should have been phased, but I really couldn’t make myself feel like I was hurt or something, because I wasn’t. sho don’t want her any how…

Me, Laura, and Chantal sat on the bench next to them.

“Hey Nadia,” I greeted.

“Hey Cee, girl where you was last night?” she asked.

“I went by Laura house… I left her ass, I was tired…”

“Girl you did right to go home, picture we ain’t get back to St. Nick till like six this morning… and plus we went way to Brooklyn….”

“How y’all had got in?” I asked.

“Shaneka…” she said. “Yeah, she talked the security guard in letting us in, it was so much fun, and they had a lotta people our age at the club we went to in Brooklyn.”

“Well I’m glad you kids had fun…” I teased.

Then once he finally stopped flirting around with Shaneka, Sho noticed that I was on the court…

“Celicia? Why you ain’t tell me you was out’chere girl?” he asked. “C’mere.”

“You come here… I don’t want you over there.” I said.

He got up and walked over to me.

“We need to talk about something, too,” he said.

“Like what?” I asked.

“We need to talk more about us… they got a lotta shit about us that not everybody need to know…” he said.

“I know that.. But you flirting with Shaneka ain’t gon’ cut it…”

“And what you jealous?”

“No,” I lied.

Well, maybe I was a little bit jealous, but like I said, he don’t even want her…

“Okay first of all, I don’t want her,” he said. “Why would I give you up for her… and we just getting this thing started, we don’t need none of that Cee, I’m tryna make this outta something…”

“So basically, you saying that you really feeling me?”

“Of course I am, we wouldn’t have gotten this far if I didn’t… I thought you knew I was feeling you girl… funny of you to ask…”

I looked at Sho and smiled.

“And all I wanna know right now is… why is Shaneka jocking you so hard???”

“She just a li’l groupie whore… I ain’t worry ‘bout her no more… I tried to get with her once and yeah I flirt with her,” he admitted. “She all on my dick just cause I’m with you now…”

“I noticed that… the way they say she was running off at the mouth last night…”

“Yep, Robert told me that…”

“Alright, well I’ma spend the night by Laura so I could chill with you. You still gon be in St. Nick? Or we gon’ go back to the Bronx?” I asked.

“Where you want us to kick it at?” he asked.

“Alright, I’m finna go play basketball with them…”

I went back by Laura…

“Sho, I’m leaving, where you want your shirt?” I called across the court.

“Throw it over the fence…”

Me and Laura took a slow walk to my house…

“Cee, you already told me anyway… when you called me, you might as well tell me the rest…” she urged.

“Alright, but only if you promise you won’t say nothing… even if you fulla kush Laura, foreal….”

“Alright!” she promised.

“Well, what you wanna know somuch?” I asked.

“What happened?”

“I know that much, but what happened happened?” she questioned.

I started laughing at Laura feeling a little awkward to tell her.

We paused in the middle of the sidewalk and just stood there talking.

Me and Laura went inside. The house was quiet, clean, and empty. My grandma was still in the hospital….

“Wasup, ‘bout time y’all come back,” Sho said soon as we could even cross through the fence to the court…

Everybody was all piled up by the bench chilling and smoking all day. I wasn’t smoking though, but we was good… till Shaneka started shit…
“Sho… when we gon go to New Orleans together?” she said.
I looked at her…

When we got to Laura’s house, she got straight on the computer.

“I left my phone next to you on the desk aiight?”

I laughed at her as I went to her room and got my bag of clothes and bought it in the bathroom with me.

“Laura… did you see Shaneka today?” I called from the bathroom.

I went in the bathroom and took a nice bath. I soaked in the tub almost an hour so I could get the scent of my Victoria’s Secret body wash to absorb in my skin so Sho would be able to smell it on me. After I got out the tub, I put on my beautiful pink gown and my matching underwear then I put on the scented lotion and perfume that also came with the body wash I had bathe with.

When I got out the bathroom, the smell of my fragrance lingered…

I went to John’s room and slowly crept up on Laura at the computer.

“Hey!”

I tapped her on the shoulder. She jumped a little…

“Girl, you scared me!!!” she exclaimed. “oh… and Sho called for you… he said to tell you to come next door once you got out the tub…”

“Well, how do I look, Laura?” I asked.

When I got to Sho’s front door, there was music blasting.

“Sho?!” I yelled over the loud music…

He turned the music down and entered the kitchen.

“I’m just fucking with ya Cee, frienny….”

We walked out of Laura’s house and walked down the hall. On our way exiting the building I ran into my mama.

“Awww shit now, C’mon Bud.. I always be sharing my hits with you, and you can’t even gimme one hit???” she exclaimed.

“Ain’t that’s your mama?” Laura asked.

“Yep….”

“Awww c’mon Bud please just please…”

My mama started crying.

“I said no Marie… I’m not sharing my needle with all you junkies.. I don’t want no AIDS.”

“You ain’t say that shit when I let you hit that pipe…”

“MAMA!” I yelled.

My mama’s eyes lit up when she saw me… as if she was looking at a pot of gold on the end of a rainbow…

“Celicia baby!!!” she exclaimed.

She ran up and hugged me.

“Mama what you doing?” I asked.

“Aww Cee you so fine baby…. Listen.. I ain’t been seeing your brother. Where you been? And when the last time you been at School?” she asked.

“We don’t have school… school’s out,” I said.

“Oh…. Cee, Celicia baby, I love you so much… can- can I borrow twenty dollars?”

“NO!!!” I yelled.

“Cee, Celicia please, I swear I’ll give it back…” she promised.

“And how you gon’ do that??? Mama, you don’t love me, because if you did, you’d be in rehab by now…”

I left her where she was standing, shaking and crying…

Then I started crying…

“Cee, what’s wrong?” Laura asked.

“Nothing, I- I just hate seeing her like that…”

“Its alright Cee, that’s just life…”

I dried the tears from my eyes. Soon as I caught the fresh air outside of the pissy halls of St. Nick,I felt a hell of a lot better…

“Let’s go see who at the park first, Cee…”

“Alright…”

So we went to the basketball court and as always the boys were there…

“Go ask Sho to give us a ride Cee…”
“You go ask him…” I said.

“He your old man,” she teased.

“So… go tell Shaneka to ask him… she over there with him…” I said feeling very envious…

It was all too much too soon. She had to know we had something because she all over him too fast… and I smelled something fishy like foreal…

“Girl, c’mon, we going over there..”

“Laura!”

She dragged me by the arm on the other side of the court where Shaneka and Sho was.

“What’s up Sho…” Laura greeted.

“What’s up Melph,” he greeted.

Laura looked Shaneka up and down then rolled her eyes…

“Ask him Celicia…”

“Ask me what?” he asked.

“Sho, I gotta say something…”

“Well speak your mind then…”

“Tell her…” I said.

“Tell who what?” he asked.
“Fuck all that d.l. shit Sho, I can’t yake it, I gotta have you to myself so tell her…”

“What you mean girl?”

“Well let me do it…” Laura said. “Shaneka, Cee want you to get the fuck, stop fucking with Sho, he ain’t yours… Okay? Him and Cee is official… get it, got it? Good.”

“Sho? What is she talking about?”

“Alright Cee, but only for you love,” he said. “Shaneka, I ain’t been feeling how you been coming on to me, but…. Cee my girl now, so I can’t rock like that.”
“So go home and take all Sho pictures off your fucking Myspace dear,” Laura teased.

“Wait what?” Sho said. “Wait, got pictrures of me where? On myspace? Are you serious? And where you got pictures of me from?”

“Sho, you know you wanted me before Cee came along, but I ain’t trippen, play your little games…” Shaneka Said.

She walked off and left the court.

“Where all that came from?” Sho asked me.

“Because, when I want something, Sho… I don’t want nobody in my way and it looked like this d.l. shit was gon’ let Shaneka in my way…” I said.

“So now you see where I be coming from?” he asked.

He wrapped his arm around my waist…

“Anyway, I wanted to ask you something,” I said.

“What’s up?”

“Can you bring us to Kennedy’s? You do know where its at, right?”

“Yeah, I’ll bring you… but I’m coming too,” he said.

“Alright…” I said.

“And so what was that?” he asked again.

“What was what?” I asked.

“That li’l situation that went down back there…”

“Sho I told you already… I don’t care who knows anymore…” I said.
