The question that I had dreaded all morning had finally come into play. I just stood there frozen; I didn’t know at all what I was going to say. “Nothing happened! Can you just drop it?” I said forcefully. “Tyff, what’s wrong? What’s with the hostility?” Jess questioned.“I just don’t want to talk about it, okay? It’s bad enough that he rejected me like I was nothing! I don’t need everyone spreading the fact that I’ve been rejected by not only my best friend, but what we all consider the best looking guy in school!” I pouted. With that simple statement I began to cry. I just couldn’t believe in my mind or my heart that he rejected me and is now trying to avoid contact with me. So many thoughts kept racing through my mind. My friends, all trying to comfort me, gathered around me spilling their sob stories of love and denial. Unfortunately, their stories of rejection just made me feel worse. When they were finally done spilling their guts out I was able to get a spare moment to sneak out and sprint to the pool. I was hoping to be the only one who was in the mood for a swim, boy, was I wrong. Everyone had the same idea that I had, except the one person I wanted. I saw that no one was in the Jacuzzi tub. Excited that I would be able to relax alone, I eased myself into the tub. The jets beating against my back made my whole body tingle. I lay my head back a closed my eyes drifting into what I considered my happy place. I was startled when someone politely tapped me on the shoulder and asked if they could join me. When I looked over my shoulder, a very handsome stranger was smiling at me. “Umm… sure…I guess…” I stuttered. I was absolutely amazed by his gorgeous blue eyes and his stern physique. I was pretty much speechless and that simple sentence was all that I could say. He smiled and jumped in getting water all in my eyes and my hair soaking wet. I was mad as hell. I didn’t want to have to reapply my makeup and fix my hair again for tonight’s placements. “You asshole, was all of that necessary?” I exclaimed. “I’m sorry, ge’ez I didn’t think, with you being in the water, that it would be a big deal to get you a little wet!?!?!” he said.“Well unfortunately for you it was a big deal! I mean you waltz over here, scare the fuck out of me, get me excited, and then drench me? How dare you think you’re even close to being that privileged?” I said. “Besides who are you here with anyways, you’re not another band geek are you?”“Actually, I’m from the same area you are, just a different school babe!” He said grinning from ear to ear. “I noticed you and your friends parading around the dome in your skanky color guard outfits, and noticed you because you seemed like the only one that wasn’t a bitch, damn if I was wrong!” He said.“I’m out! You can fuck off!” I said while jumping out of the Jacuzzi, wrapped my towel around me and ran out the door right into someone. Bet you’ll never guess just who it was.
