"One cut...two cut....three cut" I murmered as I sliced my right thigh.

I was sitting on the bathroom floor in my underwear and tears streaming down my cheeks.Just thinking about travis and everything he did to me was enough to make me cut.

After I got to cut number eleven I got up and turned the water on hot in the bathtub.I waited till it was to hot to stick my fingers in anymore and I put the little section of cut skin on my leg under the faucet.I winced with pain and rinsed all the blood off.I took a peice of toilet paper and cleaned up the mess i made.Then i put pressur on my cuts so they would stop bleeding and not stain my carpet when I went to bed.

After about 3 minutes of staring at myself in the mirror I took the toilet paper off my leg and put on my clothes.I crawled into my bed and laid in the dark until I fell asleep.When I woke up it was 9:30.

"Crap! I'm gonna be late!" I yelled looking at my alarm clock which i forgot to set.

I quickly got in the shower and dried my hair.when I got to my closet I grabbed a mini skirt and my system of a down T-shirt.I took off my pajama pants and saw the scabs from were I cut the night befor,So I put my mini skirt back and grabbed my jeans.I ran down the stairs and out the door.I lived on 29th and I had to get to 45th in about 3½ minutes.So I was painfully late and very surprised to see Jamie waiting for me at the street sign.

"Hey natie,didn't think you were gonna show up"

"Sorry about that,I had,eh,a busy night"

"Were'd you do it?"

"Do what?" I said looking very confused.

"Cut? were did you cut last night?"

"How did you know.."

"I just figured,since you were late,your eyes are puffy,and theres dried blood under your fingernails,that maybe...you cut"

"Well that would give it away" I said looking down at my feet.

"Hey natie,it's ok" she said smiling and putting her finger uner my chin lifting my head up."I was out drinking practically all night,and this morning I already had alitte"

"Well we're just a couple of loser aren't we" I said chuckling at her.

"I wouldn't say that,ok so now lets go,did you bring your swimsuit?"

"Swimsuit? you didn't say anything about a swimsuit."

"No jamie,I can't,I mean..I don't want to"

"natie it's fine if you don't have a swimsuit,you can just go in your underwear were we're going"

"No I mean,I can't jamie" I guess she finally got it because she told me she didn't care.

"Nat I don't mind,I mean if you don't mind,showing me"

"No..I guess..it's fine"

"Good lets go" she said smiling and grabbing my hands,pulling me to her car.We drove 30 minutes into the country and then we stopped on the bank of this disguisting looking river.Jamie jumped out of the car and started stripping down,yelling 'come on nat' the whole time.So I followed  her and jumped into the river.

"Wow" jamie murmered as she looked at my legs.skabs old and new.up and down the whole thing."Thats not near as bad as you make it seem nat"

I smiled and splashed her.We were both laughing.I looked up and saw something weird in the trees across the bank.It looked like a bag of potatoes or something.But then it started moving and I saw it was a person,I saw that it was travis.

"Jamie we have to go"

"What do you mean,we just got here" she said in a whinny voice

"he's back,that guy from yesterday"

"What? were?" she said looking around without seeing anything.

"Look over there,you see that blue thing?"

"Yea..so.."

"Thats his shirt"

"O my gosh your right! HI THERE!!!!" she yelled waving her arm back and forth.

"What are you doing jamie!!!! stop!" I scream putting her hand under the water.

I got out and grabbed my clothes and put them on and got in the car.Jamie follwed me and got in also.She could see I was crying so she didn't say anything for awhile.It was a perfect silene and I felt like I was safe with jamie.Then suddenly there was a bang on my window and we both jumped.We looked over and it was travis.

"Jamie drive,please,don't even pay attention to him"

"I don't see what the big deal is,I mean as far as psycos go he's pretty cute.Why don't you just hang with him and then it's like,he's not stalking you?"

"you don't get it jamie do you"

"No I don't,So explain it to me"

I didn't say anything,so she manually rolled down my window and there was travis's head right in my face.

"What got your eye there dude?" jamie said,I just looked at her with a,why are you doing this to me kinda look,and travis just looked at me,then jamie.

"Little misfortune with a bartender last night" he said with a smile.

"Oh,Well,you should get it looked at,it looks pretty gnarly"

"Yes well,anything for natalie"

"Natalie you didn't tell me you got in a bar fight last night" jamie said to me looking shocked.

"I didn't jamie,and neither did he"

"Oh he didn't?"

"No actually,I got beat up by a bartender,it had nothing to do with an actual bar"

"And what does that have to do with natalie?"

"We were fighting over her,obviously"

"Thats not true,I didn't even know that guy" I said trying to correct the lies he was telling in his own little twisted way.

"You didn't see him,you drove off to quickly"

"just like now,can we please go  jamie?"

"Oh,Alright" she said putting her foot on the gas,leaving travis standing there staring.

"So why do you hate him so much"

"I'm not sure,that I'm ready to tell you yet."

"Thats fine,I mean we did just meet yesterday"

"but in time,I'm sure I'll warm around"

she just smiled and looked at me not saying anything.And I knew she was fine with me not telling her.

after awhile we got back into moderately civilized country and we got some ice cream.

"other then the whole travis thing,today was pretty great."

"Yea today was pretty great.I guess I'll see you at group tomorrow?" jamie said making me wonder if i should even go.

"Sure,I'll see you at group.
