JAKE
"Wait a minute," said Jake. "You mean to tell me we have to meet up with the people we've been talking to after school today in the cafeteria?"
"Yup!" said the teacher cheerfully. She put the journal back in the desk. "It's because it's almost the end of the school year and we wanted you guys to meet everyone that you have been talking to."
"What if I don't want to?" he said.
"It's mandatory and you won't get your extra credit unless you go!" the teacher replied with a smile.
Jake sighed and walked out of the room. "This sucks!" he said. He trailed to his next class with a gloomy aura around him.
KELLY
"You've got to be shitting me. . ." I said.
"Watch your language!" spewed the teacher.
"I am not meeting the people that I have been talking to. . ." I replied
"Then what you did was all for nothing because the meeting is mandatory and you have to go otherwise you can say bye-bye to the extra credit!" the teacher said, grinning like a cat.
I groaned and ran out of the room off to my next class sure I was going to be late.
CORY
I walked into the lunch room down that the teacher said I had to go to a mandatory meeting. I sighed and plopped down on a table not that hungry anymore. "What's wrong?" asked Kyle as he heard my sigh.
"A teacher was being mean was all and I lost my appetite. . ." I said putting my head in my arms on the table.
"Sorry to hear that," he said. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
"Not really. . ." I said glumly. "I'm going to be in the library. . ." I got up and left.
KYLE
I watched Cory leave my heart aching to see him so sad. I pushed my tray away no longer hungry. A few minutes later the bell rang and I threw away my lunch going to my next class. I sat down and looked around the room when the teacher motioned for me to come to the front. 'Great,' I thought. 'I still have to write in the journal.'
"Kyle, you need to come to a meeting after school," she said. "and before you say anything, yes you have to come!"
I groaned. "Really? Fine, whatever I'll show up!" I said, grumbling back to my seat.
