Brendon ran his hand over his face as he held the phone to his ear. "Ashley, I swear if he says anything at school tomorrow I will never talk to you again!" he threatened quietly.

"I'm sorry Brendon!" said Ashley, still crying. "Josh just wanted to know why I was spacing out and I couldn't lie to him! I just couldn't!"

"But why did you have to tell him?" he said as if he mouth was to pure to say his name. If he says something Meg is gonna get hurt and I don't know if she'll be able to hold out. I have never had to comfort Meg she has always suffered through everything on her own and I don't know how to comfort her! The last time I had to comfort her was when we were seven and she slammed her fingers in the door. I'm sure I wasn't supposed to tell you!"

Ashley started to calm down and was now just sniffling. "I'm really sorry! I'll try and tell Josh not to say anything, okay?" she said. "I will I promise!"

"That's not the point Ashley!" he said, trying not to raise his voice. "You shouldn't have told him in the first place! If Meg had wanted him to know she would tell him herself! I'll talk to you tomorrow when I'm not so upset!" He hung up on her and stared at the ceiling. Oh no! What have I done? he thought.

Ashley's Point of View at School the Next Morning

She met Josh behind the school like she did every morning since they had started going out. She had been practicing in front of the mirror the whole night on what she had planned to say. Too bad the mirror only did what she wanted it to.

"Hey, Babe!" said Josh to her and pulling her in for a kiss. She dodged it and looked up at him. "I have to talk to you about Megan!" she said.

Josh stiffened as she said Megan's name. "I don't want to talk about her or it!" he said. "I plan on ignoring it."

Ashley glowered at him. "If you plan on saying anything don't!" she said. "If Megan wants to tell you about it she will herself and when she does then you can talk about it but not till then! I will only kiss you and hug you if you promise not to say anything."

"Alright, alright!" he said. "I promise I won't say anything about it until she talks to me first! Now can I have my kiss?"

"Yes now you may!" she said, kissing him. "But if you do say anything before then we are through!" she added. She walked off leaving Josh in shock.

Brendon's Point of View

I hope she talked to Josh! he thought to himself. I don't want Meg to get hurt by him more than she is now! He slammed his fist above his lock causing his locker to open without having to remember his combination. He shoved his stuff in the locker and took out what books he would need for the day. He caught a whiff of Ashley's perfume.

"So did you talk to him?" he asked turning to where the smell was coming from. "Is he going to keep his mouth shut?"

"Yeah!" said Ashley with a smile. "He should keep his mouth shut now because I threatened to break up with him if he didn't. Besides, who would want to break up with me?"

"I wouldn't!" he said happily. "Thanks for helping. You used yourself as bait to get him to do as you wanted. You are truly a mastermind! Well I have to go, see ya later!" He walked down the hallway with a smile on his face.
