Brendon lay on his bed smothering himself with his pillow. How could i have been so stupid? he thought angrily to himself. I should have asked her out right when Meg said that she wanted to go out with me! Now it's all a waste!

Brendon jumped as the phone rang. "Hello?" he asked, nervously into the reciever. "This is Brendon."

"Oh hi Brendon!" said a girl's voice on the other end. "This is Monica, Ashley's friend. I was wondering if you wanted to go see a movie on friday and grab a bite to eat afterwards. That is if you are not busy."

"I'm sorry Monica!" said Brendon, sympathtically. "I'm not really interested in going out with anyone! Why don't you try going out with someone that is able to go out with you right now?"

"Oh, okay! Thanks anyways!" said Monica before hanging up. Brendon sat up. "I have to tell Meg about this!" he said to himself. "She probably wants to say I told you so!"

Brendon walked over and sat in front of his computer and signed on.

New_me: Hey Meg you'll never guess what just happened!

Recently_Single: What Monica just asked you out?

New_me: Okay maybe you can!

Recently_Single: Seriously tell me the details

New_me: I'll tell you tomarrow at lunch!

Recently_Single: Alright see ya tomarrow!

Brendon fumbled with his lock having troubles with it again. He banged his locker right above the lock and it swung open. What the heck you piece of crap locker you! he thought to himself. He saw Ashley coming and shoved his backpack into his locker. "Hey Ashley!" he said.

"Hey Brendon!" she said. "I heard you rejected Monica! The poor thing was crying her heart out all night!"

Brendon just gaped at her. "I girl was crying over me?" he asked surprised. "But I told her that I wasn't interested right now and that she should go out with someone that was!"

Ashley smiled at him. "Oh!" she said. "She made it seem a lot worse than it was. "But I guess you don't really understand girls do you?"

"Not one bit!" said Brendon, smiling. "I have to go to class now! See ya around!" Before he walked off, he gave a backwards wave and continued on.

Megan stared at him. "So you're saying that she called you to go on a date, you rejected her, nicely though, and she cried over you?" she said repeating everything he had just said.

"Yeah I was surprised myself too!" he said. "That she was crying though! The other things not so much because of course you said she liked me and that she might call me."

Megan gave him an impish smile. "I was just guessing!" she admitted. "I knew she would keep quiet for Ashley's sake but I didn't think she would actually call you!"

Brendon glared at her. "You lied to me?" he said. "That's the last time I listen to you on the matter of a girl liking me!"

"Hey! At least it came true though!" she said. "So technically I didn't lie to you at all! It was a premonition!" Ben smiled at her and shook his head while he took a bite out of what was supposed to be a taco.

"Yeah. . .yeah. . .whatever!" he said. "I'm going to start call you psychic lady!" The bell rung and they dumped the rest of their taco surprise in the trash and stacked their trays. They trudged off to class.
