Brendon sat down with Megan at the regular lunch table. He smiled at her. Megan kept looking at him after a while she exclaimed, "What?"

"I had another chat with Ashley again this morning. It went well but I don't understand something she said." he said. "It was really strange."

"What was it?" said Megan before takinga drink of her milk.

"Well she said, 'Sometimes you just have to go through a few bad break-ups to find the right one for you!' I really don't understand it at all." said Brendon.

"Oh God!" said Hayley, looking at him like he was an idiot. "You seriously. . .oh geez! I feel so sorry for her!" She continued to stare at him.

"What?" said Brendon. "After that I told her about the rejection and. . .What did I do wrong?"

"She was giving you even more hints to ask her out!" she said. "Why can't you understand that? You really are hopeless."

"I've never dated a girl so how is it my fault?" he said. "Besides the only girl that's ever taken notice of me was you!"

Brendon picked up his tray not wanting to get insulted anymore. He dumped it and put it on the stack. He stalked off towards the library where he knew no one would notice him or at least make fun of him.

He stood in a aisle of the library in the back and pretended to look at the books. I still don't understand it he thought to himself miserably Do girls sometimes just pick guys for their looks? I mean I may look different but I have the same personality.

Brendon shook his head and heard the bell ring saying that lunch had ended. He walked off to class his mind clouded with thoughts. About girls. For once it wasn't filled just about the class ahead or things related to education.

He sat at home with his eyes glued to the computer. He was researching something for a project at school when an IM from Megan.
