Brendon walked into school the next day with his new and supposedly cool backpack that Megan had picked out for him. He found out his lock combination and fumbled with his lock trying to get his locker open. He looked around to see who had the lockers next to him when a girl showed up. She had brown wavy hair and chocolate brown eyes. Her name was Ashley and she was the most popular girl in school who had been, until recently, going out with a jock of a boyfriend that had treated her like crap.

Brendon had remember the rules Megan had told him about talking to girls because not only was he a geek he had never gone out with a girl. Except he asked one girl out in 9th grade and was coldly rejected. "Hey!" he said real casually and smiled. "Is that your locker?"

He also had his braces taken off and grew about 5 inches. He wasn't the short geek he once was. He was now a new person that could talk to a girl. (He was trying to pep himself up!)

Ashley looked up stunned. "Brendon?" she asked. "Is that you? What happened?"

Brendon looked at her surprised. She actually knew who he was. "Yeah it is." he said trying to maintain his composure. "I got my braces taken off and no more glasses! Oh and Meg also helped me in the other areas that I totally needed help in."

"Well you look great!" she said, still staring at him. It looked like she wanted him to say something.

"Well I have to go!" he said shutting his locker. "See ya later!"

"Yeah!" said Ashley disappointed.

Brendon continued down the hall with a goofy smile on his face. I can't wait till I get to see Meg! She's going to be so happy for me! He thought to himself.
