Chasing Away The Rain 1

Romance Created on 3-4-08 Views(79) Story Rating G

I stared solemnly out into the rain that poured among the surrounded green plants. My mother was driving me to Seattle so that I could live with my aunt while she did anthropologist research in France. I had spent my whole life traveling and going to different places having to say goodbye to my friends constantly and now I would be settled down at last. I was to spend the remainder of high school in Seattle and I was suppose to start my freshmen year.

As we drove down the narrow streets I noticed how vines covered the building and they seemed more aged from all the rain that never seemed to go away.

I had put on jeans, and a laced white shirt with a long black jacket for the occasion. I was going to see my aunt Summer for the first time since I was in sixth grade. From what I remeber of my aunt she looked like my mother, long dirty blond hair and emerald green eyes.

We parked infront of Summer's two story town house and I got out to go unpack my bags from the back of my mothers beatle car. She looked at me sadly and grabbed my wrist.

"Scarlett...are you sure you want to do this? You know you can come with me if you want?" she asked.

I sighed and decided to lie to her so that she could feel better without having to worry about me. "I want to go Jane, I want a chance at having a stable teenage life...I'll miss you." she nodded and kissed and hugged me goodbye before driving off and disapearing into the rain.

I sighed longingly and walked up the steps to the front door of the house. I was told by Jane that Summer wouldn't be here for two hours, appearently she was working at some chocolate shop she owned. Even better for me, I would have time to pull myself together to meet my new parent.

I went into the kitchen to find a note on the fridge from Summer that said where my room would be so I pulled my luggage up the stairs to the end of the hallway into the small room. It had one closet, a desk, and a dresser with a mirror. The walls were bright red and there were black curtains draping over a barred window. It was perfect...

I unzipped the bag with all my clothes and pulled out my wardrobe of tank tops, band and hippie t-shirts, and my jeans and folded hem into the dresser catching a reflection of my long dark brown wavy hair, pale skin, and grey eyes. I was so plain...

After all my clothes were folded I pulled my video camera, laptop, and other electrons out of one bag and put them on on the dresser. I took all my shampoo, conditioner, and soap down the the bathroom in the hall that I would be sharing with Summer. The bathroom was surprisingly gorgeous, it has torquoize colored marble walls and tile floor with a white bathtub/shower and sink.

After I was done with all the unpacking I decided to jump into the shower to gather my thoughts about going to my new school tommorow for the beggining of freshmen year. I hoped I would make as good as friends as I had in other schools, luckily everyone would kind of be new too, since it was freshmen year and all. I also hoped that perhaps I could find some true friends...best friends and maybe be able to spend weekends with them like best friends in movies do...like normal teenagers that don't always move around do.

(AU: SO how was it? I definatly want to continue this, I really feel that I have an amazing story going here so far.)
