As the month came to an end me and Derrick became more and more like a married couple. We cared for eachother, we selpt with eachother(not like that) and we were just....just like one. I never thought we would really be one though.
One night, a Friday, he took me to a place named the Shed. It was one of our favorite places and where our first date was. We had been dating a little more then a year. I wore a tight black tingtop and dark jeans and high heels. My hair was straight and up in a ponytail with my bangs down. He wore a skater shirt and some baggy jeans. When we showed up we went to the counter and said what we wanted. "What are you getting?" I said as i looked over the menu. "Hm.. Im thinking about theeeee.......briskit." "Me too." He smiled and looked at me. He put his arm around me and said "Im so glad I made that choice to kiss you and make a fool of myself or get you to fall in love with me." I smiled and kissed him. When we got to the front we said we wanted 2 briskets one with potato salad and macoronnie salad(Mine) and the other with baked beans and coleslaw(his). When we sat down, their was a band playing. There was a girl that looked so familair but she had a mask on. After eating, he droped something on the ground. He asked if i could get it and i did.
When i reached it i looked at it. My eyes widened as i saw the inscription on it. "Ashley, I love you and I want you to be in my life forever. So will you?" I sat up and tears clouded my eyes. He took the ring and got down on his knee. "Ashley, will you marry me?" I put my hands to my mouth as tears ran down my cheeks faster and faster. I smiled so hard it hurt. I nodded my head up and down. He smiled and i threw my arms around him. "Yall! My friend down there just said she would marry Derrick!" I turned around to see Katie and Nick standing on the stage. She had the mask in her hand, at once i remembered it. We made it together. I hade the other one. I smiled and waved at them.
I turned around. "Wait. What about my parents?" "Oh you mean mom and dad?" When he said that they came up behind him and smiled. "I asked them this morning." Nick and Katie came down while everyone clapped and smiled at us. Nick gave me a weak smile. The eyes i gave him said im so sorry. But he gave me eyes that said its alright. He patted Derrick on the back and said he better hold onto me tight. The rest of the night was fun. We all went back to my house and played games and talked about the wedding.
As i climbed into bed Derrick put his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him. His head was laid on my neck and he said "I love you Ash." I Love you too." As we drifted off to sleep i thought.
