The gust of wind coming from the south could send the shot to the right a little, he'll have to compensate for it. Also the target keeps moving around and doesn't stay still for more than 2 seconds at a time. The shot will take at least a second or so to reach the target. He'll have to anticipate the targets path if he is to kill him on the first shot.

Through the scope of the DSR-1 Sniper Rifle assassin 04 watched his target pace back and forth in his suite on the thirty fourth floor. The crosshairs always just above and to the left of his head to compensate for both wind and gravity.

A voice buzzed in assassin 04's ear.

"Take the shot."

"Roger, he won't be getting out of this."

Breathing stopped, mind cleared, and hands steadied assassin 04 slowly squeezed the trigger back.

A loud crack made the assassin flinch his eye closed. By the time he opened his eye that was looking through the scope, he would see if the target was hit or he fucked up the mission.

In the hotel suite dark blood covered the walls. Half of the targets head was blown off and the other half was sliding off his shoulders. His muscles were spasming but he was still standing.

The assassin opened his eye and looked through the scope. The sight of the bloody room was pleasing, although the standing body didn't. Damn, lost the fucking bet.

More buzzing in his ear.  It was the voice of a young man who has had a few drinks.

"So man, his body still up?"

"Fuck you.."

Assassin 04 could hear laughing on the other side.

"I knew it, you owe me 100 bucks bitch."

"Grow up and stop talking like a ghetto-rat. Your fucking white."

A helocopter touched down on the roof behind the assassin.

"Whatever man, see you when you get back."

Walking toward the helocopter assassin 04 began to think about his line of work. Not white collar, not blue collar, not even an average hitman. He was from E.S.T, the leading organization in paranormal activities. That man in the suite back there was a dangerous serial killer who used his victims bodies to make deals with demons for his own selfish gains.

The other thing on his mind was how he was going to get 100 bucks before he sees Krysis, the "ghetto-rat" he owes money to.

NOTE: Vie Vaine will be continued soon but I will also be doing this story so sometimes one will have to wait for the other cause I cant do 2 different chapters at once. I decided to start this story because I wanted to write about something in modern times. Vie Vaine 5 coming out later this week, or early next week.
