Vie Vaine ch.2

"Who the fuck do you think you are?"
"...."
"What do we have here? A damn mute?"
Still no reply. The thugs were starting to become angered by the slim figure that stood before them. The lower half of his face was covered in a dirty scarf. The shadow from his straw hat covered the top half of his face. He wore a tight fitting black garment. His feet were bare and callused.
"Let's see if this fellow has some money on him."
"Hehe, yeah."
One of the thugs stepped foward with a dull short sword in hand. With a smile on his face he quickly rose the sword over his head.
"D-..."
Before the thug could even finish one word his throat was sliced. Blood flowed out of the wound and squirted whenever he tried to breath. He fell backward and smashed his head on a table on the way down.
"FUCK, GET OUTTA MY BAR!" yelled the panicking barkeep.
The figure in the doorway just stood there with his bloody sword drawn. The body on the floor twitched slightly. The figure in the doorway took this as his sign to kill and jumped foward. The rest of the bar gradually began to be painted blood red as each new body fell to the ground. The man seemed emotionless. He killed every crying man and woman in the bar just as easily as someone would kill a spider that was running across the floor.
After every single life in the bar had been forcibly taken the man stared at the blood covered ground. It took great willpower from him to resist kneeling down and licking the bloody gashes on the bodies.

Akiri eagerly ate his breakfast of bread and dried meat. The group was just a few hours away from Sindur. He couldn't wait to catch his first wrongdoer. While Akiri was wrapped up in his daydreaming another one of the students was walking up behind him. The student lightly touched Akiri's shoulder.
"Hey...are you,"She snickered,"are you ok over here alone?"
He turned around and looked up at her. It was Katsu. She was trying to suppress a smile. He looked around himself and noticed that indeed he was alone.
"I..I'm fine." Akiri was nervous. He wasn't sure what she was trying to do. Be nice to him or make fun of him. She was still looking down at him with her hands covering her smile.
"I'm ju...just," She snickered even more this time,"just worried th-"She burst out laughing. Akiri had no idea what she was doing. Before he could even think of asking her what she was doing she had ran off back to a group of laughing girls.
Akiri turned around and faced away from them again. His face was burning from embarrassment. He didn't even know what they were doing but it still embarrassed him, and made him a little mad.
A soft breeze brushed against his cheeks. He looked over in the direction the breeze came from. They were in a forest full of oak trees. Every leaf on every tree was swaying gently. It was very calming. Mother Nature seemed to be comforting him, cooling his red cheeks and calming his frustrated nerves.
He smiled in the direction of the breeze and said thank you. He knew no one had heard him but he felt like he had to thank something for comforting him, even if it was just a breeze.
"Alright, get all of your gear and gather around me." Aimi's voice rose above the chattering students. After some movement everyone was gathered around her.
"We are only about 2 hours outside of Sindur. You all are free to leave here when you want because from now on your on your own until each thief is captured."
When Aimi finished everyone started walking northward toward Sindur, some even running. Today each one of these young men and women will prove their worth on a real mission. Five years they have trained, day after day. Blood and sweat, tears and laughter. They have gone through a lot. Aimi smiled as she saw each of them pass by her.
It seemed to be ages before Akiri saw the first few buildings on the outskirts of Sindur. Two lined up on the left and one on the right. Both the ones on the left were houses and the one on the right was a bar. He smiled as he looked at them. He was going to help these people get rid of the criminals. The smile faded when he saw an arm sticking out from the doorway of the bar. The barkeeper wouldn't leave a drunk pased out in his doorway would he?
Akiri rushed over to the bar and looked inside. The first thing he noticed was that the arm wasn't attached to anything. A cold wave washed over his body. The hair on the back of his neck stood up. He saw bodies...a lot of bodies, couldn't tell how many. They were too badly cut up and dismembered. They all seemed to just be one large mass of flesh and blood.
The last thing he remembered seeing before he passed out was a dark figure standing in the back corner of the bar...it almost looked like the black beast from his dreams....
