The Mysterious Incantation

“Along the curbed report of old,

“Beyond transcendent tales of late,

“Allow this story to unfold

“Upon this dismal, dreary date!”

The force of the incantation had thrown Arya against the far wall of her bedroom, knocking the breath out of her. Unfortunately, she didn’t know why; she was not the one to cast the spell. So, with the uncertainty of this most mysterious event residing in her head, she set about her daily tasks.

Upon entering the bakery, she inquired the shopkeeper about the incident which occurred; the shopkeeper knew nothing. This same enlightenment beheld Arya upon each shop and store visited. Not a single person knew what had happened to her early that morning. Finally, an exhausted and irritated Arya threw herself down onto an unoccupied bench, and raised her hands fiercely in a frustrated gesture. The world came to a stop before her very eyes; time froze before her.

Slowly, Arya repeated the gesture again, bereaving the world of its momentary curse, then stood excitedly and ran to the nearest person she could exclaim her find to – an officer.
"Officer, officer!  I just froze time; it was amazing," Arya shouted in her excitement. The officer smiled and gently responded, saying, "Dear, I know of a place where they take and help people like you; it's called an asylum." Then he gently took her by the wrist and proceeded to maneuver her to his police car.
