Part 7
“Where are we going?” Chiyeko asked. She was sitting on her hover board blindfolded. She was being pulled along by Manami.
“Oh, you’ll see, you’ll see,” Manami said, “just be patient! We’re almost there, and I bet Miyuki and Kimika are already there.”
Chiyeko sighed. She hated not knowing where she was. It made her nervous.
Manami smiled at Chiyeko’s attitude. She knew Chiyeko was just being dramatic, and besides, they really were almost there. She pulled closer and closer to the window and stepped through it.
“Chiyeko, we’re here,” Manami told her. “Here, let me help you get off of your hover board.”
Manami carefully helped Chiyeko into the large apartment through the window. She flicked her fingers and the hover board zoomed towards the ground where the other girls’ were to wait for when the girls needed to leave. Manami guided Chiyeko to the middle of the room and walked away from her.
“Okay, Chiyeko, you can take off your blindfold now,” Manami instructed.
Chiyeko pulled off her blindfold to find all three of her friends as well as Tomoaki Fujitaka standing in front of her, in the middle of Tomoaki’s apartment’s living room.
“Surprise!” all three of the girls shouted.
Chiyeko blinked rapidly and placed her hand on a small table to steady herself. She took several deep breaths and shook her head. She looked at each of her friends and made a face.
“What’s going on?” she asked.
Manami smiled innocently, “Oh, nothing. We just thought you’d like to spend your day in a more… productive way. There’s more to life than crashing parties, you know.”
Chiyeko closed her eyes, loosened her clenched fists, and took a deep breath, letting all of the tension and frustration in her body go. She was not going to let her temper control her today.
“Okay, fine, whatever. I’m too tired to deal with you guys today, so just make yourselves useful and go,” Chiyeko grumbled. Her headache was starting to come back and she hadn’t gotten much sleep the past night. This was just not her day.
“But—” Kimika started to protest, but Miyuki elbowed her in her side before Kimika could finish.
Manami giggled, “You got it!”
Kimika, Miyuki, and Manami leaped out of the window, their hover boards rising up to catch them as they fell. The three girls zipped away into the distance, letting Chiyeko and Tomoaki spend the rest of the day together.
