The Curse of Magix *8*
|
Angel came running out of the school doors, searching for her friends.
“You guys! You guys! You guys!” she shouted as she ran. “Mrs. Fyora’s sending ‘reinforcements’ and she told us to just stay put and stay out of trouble!” She came to a sudden stop and put her hands on her knees, panting.
Ciarra smirked, “If you really think I’m going to ‘stay put,’ then you’re sorely mistaken.”
Ciarra jumped up and broke the barrier separating her from the witches, leaving her and her two friends unprotected. She could feel her magic beginning to bubble up and spark at her fingertips.
“Why are you here? Tell us now!” she demanded.
“Don’t think we’ve forgotten about you, witch girl. You may have your power back, but we’re still stronger than you!” Drixy laughed.
“I don’t think so!” Ciarra shouted. “Last time, I was alone, but with my friends with me, I’ll never lose!”
“Is that so?” Valcania teased. “That won’t do. I guess we’ll just have to wipe them out!”
She shot a blast of fire at Angel and said, “Last time, this worked just fine… so I supposed it should suffice!”
“Exactly… last time,” Angel pointed out. She held her hands out in front of her and a lavender stream of magic flowed out of her fingertips. It wrapped itself around the stream of fire and tossed it back at Valcania. Then, Angel used all the magic she possibly could at that moment and blasted it at Valcania. Valcania flow to the ground with a loud thump!
She drew some symbols in the air and cast a spell. “Wrap her up in coils of light! Make these loops ever so tight!”
The magical coils around Valcania started getting smaller and smaller until they couldn’t squeeze any further. Valcania squirmed and struggled, trying to get free.
“Just give up, Valcania! It’s pointless to fight back!” Angel told her. “You can’t even move!”
“Valcania! You’re gonna pay for that, Angel!” screamed Cornelia threateningly, summoning her magic.
“I don’t think so, Cornelia!” Camille contradicted, as she shot her own magic at Cornelia. A grass green glow erupted from her fingers and she was able to knock Cornelia to the ground.
“Vines of Valkeria, answer my call! Wrap this witch up and never let her go!” With that, green vines sprouted up from the ground and pinned down Cornelia. “Try to get out of this!” Camille challenged.
“And now for you, Drixy!” Ciarra yelled, her magic blazing in a bright cloud around her.
“Yeah, right witchy! I could beat you blind!” Drixy said smugly. “You don’t stand a chance!”
“Stop it!” screamed Ciarra. “Stop disrespecting me, my friends, and everyone around me! How dare you try to ruin my world! How dare you threaten my people! I am, witch or not, the princess of Magix! And I intend to do everything in my power to protect my realm!”
And, without a second thought, she used every bit of her magic. A rainbow stream of magic shot over to Drixy, as well as the other two witches…
BOOM!
There was an enormous explosion, followed by a blinding light. When the smoke cleared, they saw all three witches lying, unconscious on the ground. Ciarra lay on the ground, in the same spot she stood moments ago. Her body was contorted in an unnatural shape, seemingly lifeless.
Suddenly, and ethereal voice rang out throughout the air: “Ciarra, you have performed the most unselfish act that anyone could. You risked your life for everyone around you. You have showed us that you are worthy of living a normal, uncursed life. The Curse of Magix has been lifted.” With that statement, a stream of black magic swirled out of Ciarra’s magical emblem on her forehead and disappeared into a puff of smoke.
“Wait,” gasped Camille. “Did that voice just say that Ciarra is… dead?”
