"Welcome to the 50's!" as my grandma would say, "Where gangs thrive, and changes grow!" I would ussual roll my eyes at this statement, but I learned she was right. Gangs did thrive. From the first night I moved to this raunchy appartment in the big apple, I heard beat downs happening around my pad. It was a totaly brain teaser. The only this good about this ugly old place was the emergency exit in my room. I could sneek out and join my posse whenever I wanted. The only thing is, I do not have a posse. I am a bonified loser, nerd, a nosebleed. And I'm not exactly the coolest cat around, I sometimes have to make my clothes out of shower curtains; This is because my family never really recovered from the Great Depression. Even though it was decades ago! But I shouldn't complain, at least I am alive. I climbed into bed and snuggled up to my Betty Bop pillow. I was just about to fall into R.E.M. sleep until I heard the sound that would change my life perminately.
