I wiped my tears, and cursed myself for crying. Shakly, i got up and looked at my beeper. They were all from Chris.
"You don't have to take those." Lisa said, appartently she saw my beeper.
"If I dont I'll lose my job for ignoring a 'patent'." I sadly repiled. Lisa patted my shoulder for comfurt. I took a deap breath, took Lisa's hand, squeezed it than gave her a fake smile. She did not buy it, but let me go anyway. I opened Chris's hospitals door and left Abby at the door, I became Dr. Samels again.
"Hey." he smiled as i walked in. "Are you ok?"
"I'm fine, what about you? Feeling dizzy? Finger still hurt? Can you move it?" i said proffessionaly. He got what I was doing.
"Yes to all of the bad things, and no to all of the good things." he replied. I knew what he was doing, but tried not to give into it.
"Please, sir, we need to know." i said and looked at his charts, anything that kept my mind off his good looks and amazing smile.
"So, I'm a sir now." He tried to reach for me, but i moved a little towards the window so he couldnt touch me. His heart started to slow. I looked at him quickly, but his face was down playing with his fingers. He was thinking.
"What did I do?" he whispered. Do not answer. i thought.
"You broke your promis." I answered. And walked out of the room. I went into the bathroom. Looked into the mirror, my face was still red and puffy from crying. I turned on the cold water and shoved a handful of paper towels under it. "dont cry dont cry." i whispered to myself. I slamed the cold water off and took the towel. I dabbed it three times on my face. "Dont cry dont cry." i kept saying it louder and louder. I bit my lip and banged on the counter. I couldnt take this pain, it was eating me away every day, every mintue, every single damn secound. All i wanted to do was go into a succluded room and lock myself away from this cruel dark world we call 'home'. Feeling of loss and lonliness surrounded me as I walked out of the bathroom, with a bleeding lip.
"Oh dear!" lisa ran over to me and hugged me. At least I had a friend. "Come on, we're going home!" she said and dragged me into her car. I was still blanked faced, thinking of his face when I back away from his warm touch. Why did he care?! He looked like he CARED! It's probely just an act. I thought in my head, than one tiny part of my brain that i call my liar said what if he really does love you and he made a mistake? Than every single part of my brain yelled SHUT UPP! LOVE IS FOR THE LUCKY RICH PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT REALITY! LOVE IS SOMETHING THAT KEEPS PEOPLE HOPEFUL IN THIS NON-HOPEFULL WORLD! LOVE IS FOR STUPID PEOPLE! AND I WILL NEVER EVER BE A RETART AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Ok, tell me what happened every single word!" lisa shoved ice cream in my hands. I looked around, i guess i was in her appartment. She coverd me in a pink butterfly blanket and shoved pink flufy pillows behind my head. Her attention was fully on me awaiting my response.
"well, I walked in there," why am i trusting her with this? i thought. "Than he was smilling! its like he thinks i dont even care about what he did! like he thinks he didnt do anything wrong!"
"THAT ASS FUCKER!" she yelled. I laughed.
"haha, yahh. Than when I was tryng to do my job he tried to..to.."
"COME ON!! IM DYING HERE!" i lauged again, her reactions were just like an overly hormond cracked out teenager.
"he tried to touch me! He tried to hold my hand! After what he did! like I mean what the hell?! I felt like one of his sluts and I didnt want to be one so i moved away. Than his heart beat slowed and I looked up."
"let me guess, he tried to get up and rape you!???!!" She had an aggrivated face on, like she was about to kill something, or someone. I laughed again, it felt good.
"No, he looked...sad? like he was disappointed that i wasnt his sluts! Like he... cared?!!" I said.
"THATS RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!" she got up. "IF HE EVER MEETS ME IN A DARK ALLEY OHHH HE BETTER BE SOME WILD BEAST TO CONTROL ME!" she started to box in the air, like she was beating him up. I laughed and took a big spoonfull of ice cream. This is way im not succleded in a dark room.
