We got to the studio about 9:30, Josh smiled.

“Brody has to be having a fit by now.”

I laughed, knowing he was right,

The elevator off the fortieth floor dumps you into the waiting area. It was a pretty pimp area.

We found Brody and Aaron sitting there, next to the Paramore.

“You’re so lucky! The secretary said they’re not ready yet.” Brody said to Christian, Josh and I.

“Yeah, don’t get your knickers in a twist, Brody.” Josh mocked him.

“Since when do you say knickers?” I grinned.

“Since I discovered how hot British chicks were.”

“Hey!” Hayley Williams from Paramore exclaimed.

I smiled; I hadn’t seen her in a while.

“Hey! What’s up?”

“Not a lot, just making music, you know. Where have you been? I’m going crazy. I’m not in love that guy, Michael.”

Michael was the guy I gave her to replace me while I was on vacation.

“Oh yeah?” I laughed, “I can hook you up with someone else.”

“Yeah, or you could just come back.”

I smiled, “Sorry.”

Josh elbowed me in the side. Ahem.

“Oh, right. Hayley, this is Josh from Conspiracies and Apologies, Josh this is Hayley from Paramore,” I turned my attention back to Hayley. “Wait a second. Are you on the right floor?” This floor was 100% my own. So I didn’t often find people I wasn’t scheduled to meet with here.

She gave a slight grin, “Actually yeah. I couldn’t reach you. Your secretary said you had taken a break. But through the grape vine I heard you would be in today. So I decided to stop by.”

I laughed, “So you’re like stalking me.”

“Something like that,” she laughed, “Sorry.”

“No, don’t be. I like it, makes me feel important,” I joked.

I introduced everyone. Brody looked distracted.

“Where is he?”

“Who?” I asked.

“The guy were meeting with.” He mumbled distracted.

Guy? What was Brody smoking? “Brody, thanks for the compliment, but I’m really not that man-like.” I said sarcastically.

“What?” he asked, turning to face me.

“You mean were meeting with you?” Christian asked curiously.

“Yeah,” I nodded.

“I thought you were the secretary,” Josh laughed.

“Nope.”

“Oh,” Brody mumbled, looking confused and disappointed.

“What?” I asked.

“I just thought we were meeting with Riley Colter.”

Hayley grinned. “Riley A. Colter.”

“Yeah, Riley A. Colter.” Brody said absentmindedly.

I grinned, “Like Riley Alicia Colter?”

“No way?” Josh exclaimed.

“How did you boy’s possibly not know that?” Hayley asked. “I mean, usually people know who’s ass to kiss.”

I laughed. This was true.

“So you’re the Riley Alicia Colter, of Colter Records?” Josh asked.

“Yep.”

Christian grinned, “That’s tight.”

“Hell yeah it is!” Josh said.

Brody looked a bit stunned still.

“Wait!” Josh shouted, “That means the first meeting, canceled because…?”

I laughed, “Yeah, Aaron pissed me off.”

“I knew it!” Brody shouted.

Hayley laughed, “You guy’s might want to work on your people skills.”

“So you’re like the most important person in the company?” Josh prodded.

I shook my head, “No.”

“But top ten for sure, right?”

I laughed and shrugged.

Hayley shook her head. “She’s top. Look at it this way, top guy can tell anyone to do anything he wants. So if third person can tell first person to do anything she wants, then she can tell anyone to do anything she wants. Not that she couldn’t before. Second person is her uncle. But she could be 100^th and she’d still be top so long as she had first rapped around her finger.”

I laughed, “Thanks for your help Hays.”

“Anytime.”

I already had the papers made up for the deal. The guys had discussed the deal they wanted like a million times in front of me. Their lawyer came, and my company’s lawyer came. The papers were now signed, everyone was happy.

After that I talked to Paramore for a while. Josh and Christian waited for me. I told them I could just take a cab, but they refused. They had plenty of food. My secretary made sure to that.

Just before I left, my secretary gave me a message, as Josh was announcing our plans to celebrate.

“Definitely celebrating tonight.”

“I can’t, my boyfriend is in town!” I told them, excited after reading the slip she handed me.

“Josh shrugged, bring him. You’re celebrating too.”  I thought I saw Josh give Christian a look.

I nodded, “Ok.”
