Christian’s Point of View
“You idiot!” Brody, my friend, and lead guitarist in our band yelled at Aaron.
I was still smiling a bit.
“You got told, son” Josh, my other friend, who played guitar and sang back up, announced, also to Aaron. He didn’t usually talk like that, it was for dramatic effect.
Brody wasn’t amused, he was pissed. “What the hell, he show’s up late and drunk, and makes all look bad!”
Josh grinned, “Chill bud. I mean, how often you get to see that.”
That was true. People don’t tell us the truth often; it comes with the job description. When you’re famous you hear what people think you want to hear.
“Well I’m definitely making a mental note of this day. The time Aaron got drunk off his ass, and then schooled, by a 5oz blonde secretary.” Josh smiled.
“What if she tells her boss about it? Dude, shit like this can ruin our career.”
I nodded, “He’s right though. I mean, I don’t think she’ll tell her boss, but if he’s showing up drunk to stuff like this. If we get signed with this label it will take us to a whole new level, and he makes us all look bad.”
Just then a secretary, not the one who talked to Aaron, walked over.
“Hi.” She smiled at them, “I’m sorry but were going to have to reschedule.”
We exchanged alarmed looks, not including Aaron.
“May I inquire as to the reason?” Josh asked.
She shook her head, “I’m sorry, I was just told to reschedule you. Does next Thursday work?”
We all nodded, well all but Aaron.
Josh, who happened to be sitting next to Aaron, hit him on the back of the head. “Great, now look what you did!”
Two Day’s LaterJosh and I were walking down town. It was night time, we pretty much only went out at night. Too many people recognized us in the day.
I could hear some weird banging noises, but didn’t think too much of it. After all this was New York.
We had walked our way up to the end of a large building and were standing directly under a dimly lit street light when a girl flew out of the next alley way.
She flung forward and landed on her face.
Something must have caught her foot on her way out of the alley.
The object in her hand skidded across the street.
Josh and I ran over to see if she was ok, maybe help her up, when I realized she wasn’t moving.
Josh picked up the object, it was a cell phone. I could hear an operator, “Hello? Hello? 911 please state your emergency.”
I couldn’t really hear what he said. I was to busy hollering at him.
“Dude, get an ambulance down here.”
The girl was covered in scrapes bruises, and blood. She had a large gash on the back of her head, and her shirt was half ripped off.
I was freaking out.
I could here myself, but couldn’t really control what I was saying. “Shit dude. Dude, holly shit!”
We turned her over and checked for a pulse. I could feel one, but just barely. I stared at her for a moment.
She was really pretty. I could tell, even through the bruises. She had long blonde hair, and cute features. That’s when it hit me.
“Dude, dude,” I was hollering again, “This is the girl!”
Josh looked confused.
“The girl from the record label!”
I could see the recognition dawning on Josh’s face.
“Holly shit, you’re right!”
