I leaned back in my chair and looked up at the ceiling. The flourecent lights burned my eyes and I had to close them to keep from getting dizzy. Micah was pouring himself a glass of a dark red wine. He didn't offer me any. "So is Adrien going to come looking for you?" " I don't know, usually he's at the bars and strip clubs around this time." I looked around for a clock on the wall but didn't find one.I looked down at my clothes. A beer stained wife-beater and cut off jeans weren't exactly the latest fashion, but it wasn't like I was rich. " I could lend you some of my clothes if you want." He was watching me look at myself. " Oh sure," I said,"That would be great." He walked back down the hallway into his bedroom and returned with a Led Zeppelin T-shirt and some baggy jeans. "Ummm...where's your bathroom," I asked. "Down the hall and the first door on your left." I walked down the hall and into the bathroom. After I changed I walked back into the kitchen. Micah was leaning against the counter reading a magazine and drinking out of the wine glass like it was the elixir of life itself. " I din't know you were a drinker," I said. He turned around quickly and I saw that his colorless eye had turned blood red. I gasped and took a step forward,and another. I walked up to him and stared at his eye. It was strange and different,but I was mesmerized by it. "What are you?" "Not like you." "You're," I dipped my finger into the wine glass and brought it to my lips,"A vampire?" "Yes, are you afraid? Do I scare you?" " I don't know." I never saw it coming. Micah was a vampire? How weird and strange,but it only made me love him more.I smiled at him and leaned in to kiss him when he grabbed my wrist and looked me in the eye. " Do you love me?" "Yes," I said. " Will you be with me forever and never leave me?" Micah was starting to scare me. He reminded me of a scared child going to kindergarten for the very first time. Not wanting to let go of his mothers hand,thinking that she would leave him there forever. " I don't know." "Please,you have to tell me!" "Micah,give me time,this is all so sudden and I can't take it all in at once." He looked defeated standing there.His hair falling in his eyes and his perfectly shaped mouth open just enough to show the protruding fangs that were used to suck the life out of innocents. Yet I still accepted him. " I do love you and I will never leave you."
