Custody.Custody.Custody. It played through krissys head over and over again like a broken record. "So your really gonna do this?" She asked Elijah. "Yes i have to. Shes my baby girl and i wasnt there for her for her first four years. and i cant just let some random person adopt her. Her grandmother is giving me full custody. Im picking her up tomorrow" Krissy looked confused. "Tomorrow? But your first day of college is tomorrow."
Elijah decided McKenzie was more important right now then school. He explained to Krissy how he was thinkin of taking a year off and getting to know McKenizie a little more. After all she is going to be living with him now. And he doesnt have a babysitter. So he decided to put off school for this year.
"I understand" Those two words from Krissy's mouth was exactly wat Elijah wanted to hear."You DO!!!" He shouted with excitement as he leaned over and kissed Krissy. She pulled away and hugged him. All she wanted to do was to be in his arms. To let him know shes there for him through good and bad. But thats wat you do for somebody you love so much right? "I love you.....so much" She whispered in his ear. "So your okay with all this?" He went on..." and im looking for an apartment tomorrow, once i get McKenzie." "Will you be picking me up from school tomorrw?" She asked. "Yes I'll be there, of course i will be there, I love you." He said smiling.
It was 3 am before she got home. Her parents left her a note saying she was in trouble and that no matter how much sleep she would get she was still going to school. She knew she wouldnt be in trouble after she explained everything to her parents. Her parents were very understanding and supported her with all her decisions. And Krissy's decision right now was to help Elijah.
The next day Krissy woke up early to explain everything to her mom since her dad had already left for work. Her mom took it better then she had expected. "Im here for you and support wat ever you do you know that right?" Krissys mom told her. Krissy went to school and couldnt wait for the day to be over. She sat in every class staring at the clock wishing time would go by faster. But it didnt.
Meanwhile, Elijah met Maddysons mom at a park. He cryed when he seen his baby girl getting out of the car. Her beautiful blonde hair like her moms and her gorgous green eyes, just like her daddys. Her grandmother leaned over and told McKenzie "Thats your daddy" as she pointed to Elijah. He stood up from the bench to see his little girl run to him with open arms "Daddy! Daddy!" He was surprised actually. He wasnt sure how she would react to him. But he was happy to hold her in his arms. "I have pictures of you daddy" her little voice said. "I know you do...i sent them to you over the years, and i have pictures of you to baby girl"He said with tears running down his eyes. "Daddy why are you crying?" She asked with a sad look on her face. "Im just happy to see you thats all."
He put McKenzie down and held her hand as he walked over to her grandmother. "Thank you" he said to her. "Take care of her now, shes a very special girl. And i want you to come visit whenever you want. as much as possible to." She said with her eyes filling up with tears. She was sad to let her grand daughter go, but she knew physically she couldnt take care of her as much as she wanted. She hugged Elijah and McKenzie. Then drove away.
Riiiiiiiing!!! The bell echoed through the halls. Boy was Krissy glad to get out of there. She ran to her locker to put her books away, then ran out to the parking lot. She stopped when she seen a little girl sitting on the hood of Elijahs car. She knew it was McKenzie. Krissy walked up to her an asked where her daddy was. Thats when he came out from behind the car holding a dozen red roses. My favorite. she thought. He handed them to her as she kissed him on the cheek. Then he grabbed McKenzie and buckled her up in her car seat. "Get in, i have to show you something" Elijah told Krissy as she watched him buckel his daughter up, all nice and careful. "Where are we going?" She asked. "Its a surprise!" he said with a smile. She just laughed an sat back wondering where they could possibly be going.
